Re: A National X-Trail Get Together

Hi All,

Also, by the dates that Jalal posted, the weekend 3/4 Oct 09 would prob be the closest for everyone. It's the last weekend for some of the states but there would prob be pupil free days in the first week back anyway? Also if any kids had to miss some school days there are usually exams at the end of term so better to miss a couple of days at the start of term.

That's just my thoughts on the matter bearing in mind we prob won't be able to suit everyone's ideal circumstances/dates.

Re: A National X-Trail Get Together

G'day,

If you organise a campsite in a showground perhaps one of the locals can get the Lion's club or similar to organise the sausage sizzle/ catering for the weekend? Saves having to carry BBQ's etc, it is cost effective and the local clubs get to raise some money. It works on the motorbike rallies that I go to.

Perhaps Nissan should SPONSOR this event? Are you listening Nissan?? Hmmm...it doesn't have to be much just some giveaways or prizes e.g. 1) Longest distance travelled 2) Best modified 3) Hard luck story etc

I would be happy with Alice Springs as a location as I haven't been there and it is on the list.

Hi all.
I like the idea put up by Zhivan, about asking the local service clubs if they would be interested in catering.
This idea works great up here, for motorbike runs I have been on tooo.
They do a great job, & raise a few $ as well.
Will try to work my calendar, to join in, when a date is organised.

Wow, what an awesome event to be a part of. Count me in! There's so much of this country to be explored, and what better way to do it.

I can be pretty flexible with dates, as long as there's enough notice...October sounds good.

I like the idea of keeping it central for everyone and using the local clubs for catering and helping them out at the same time.

Fantastic idea! We would love to attend and what a perfect way for a (inter)national off-road group of people to meet, but off road! emoticon

Let me know if I can use my contacts through Rotary - I know many clubs would love to help out with sausage sizzles, etc.

Just a thought - when does the "wet season" unofficially start? Would hate to be stuck out west somewhere with only a fewhundred kilometres of road ahead under water (No, really! Work commitments and all that).

We are going to be there come hell or high water lol,

All suggestions are great and both Wendy and myself are liking the idea that the local clubs do the catering .
last week in September or first week in October may suit everyone with children and the thought of Nissan supporting this is also a great advert chance for them to boost sales so I can see them jumping on board emoticon or maybe organize a commercial while we are out there!
This can be put forward to Nissan.
We might be able to squeeze a week off work to do this as well so all that is left to say is "Lets go for it"

Regards Scot

Re: A National X-Trail Get Together

Hey guys, we would love to Tag Along for this one. Have planned to go to Alice Springs but what a better way to do it then with other Exy fans. Def count us in as long as the dates are organised well in advance so we can get holidays - how many days are we looking at from start to finish? Think it is a good idea to travel in groups but we are in Gladstone so dont forget to pick us up on the way!

Re: A National X-Trail Get Together

Hi Rob and Deb,

Maybe all Queenslanders can find a certain spot to meet up and travel in a convoy together to get to the meet.

Would love to join a whole fleet of exys cruising along with lights blazing.

Looking forward to this one!

Regards Scot
