Re: Wa Trip over Summer

I was thinking the same thing Brenton - I have my weekends taken up until late november but was hoping to organise something for you WA Exy members. Just because I don't have mine anymore, I still wanted to be part of it all.

I was going to look into the tracks in the 4WD Days Out of Perth book to see what might be suitable... a lot of the tracks in it are suitable for 'softroaders'. And as I said in another post recently, the Sawyers Valley Powerlines track probably wouldn't be too difficult. Even if it is deemed too hard - there are many more tracks up there.

Then you have all the beaches in WA! I'm actually going for a Triton cruise up to Cervantes and Stock Yard Gully (?) in early November - if I knew more about it, it would be great for some WA guys and gals from here to come along... but until I check it out myself or hear from other people - I can't say whether it is suitable for the Exy or not.

I know the Exy would be fine on a beach south of Mandurah - around Tims Thickett? Or even White Hills?

Anyway - there's a few ideas.

Re: Wa Trip over Summer

Hi guys,

Myself and the misses would be interested in any 4wd trips. We're new to offroad driving, and now that the diesel beast is run in (well kinda, done 1200kms), we're up for getting it dirty (the car). It would be good to go with some people who know what they are doing offroad, cause I've got no idea....

I've got most of Jan off, but am available most weekends.

PM me if you organise anythingemoticon

Cheers,

Chris.

Will let you all know when our club has its next outing (Dec)

I think we are also planning a Tims Thicket run around the 3rd of Jan.

Re: Wa Trip over Summer

I would be up for a day trip or several over summer !!

Like several others i am new to it all, i bought the 4wd day trips magazine and followed the wandoo trip in july which was fairly tame for the most part (a good first outing) and the exy took it all in its stride.

Powerlines sounds like fun and it would be nice to go with others who have experience and some equipment on the off chance of the odd mishap

I'm also interested in any beach runs to Tim's thicket and i would like to do Wedge Island and even up to Cervantes if others are keen and want lead the way

Currently busy with exams until the end of November but i should be able to make time after then

Cheers

Tims Thicket is doable in the Exy - as I'm sure Cervantes is (going there soon). Powerlines might pose tricky but it'd be worth having a go - in most cases there are alternate routes. I'll also be in any of these trips if they come up.. as I said before, am busy until late November but will look at organising something after then if no one else has.

Hi All,

If everything goes as planned, I'll be there by end of Dec'08. Anything after that, count me in. emoticon
