Lake Cobbler

Hi all,

Anyone ever done the drive into Lake Cobbler? I've always been keen to check it out, as I'm a sucker for waterfalls and Dandongadale falls sound great.

I'm a 4wd and exy noob, so I'm trying to find a less adventurous route in while I get used to the car. Coming in north via the Bennies sounds like it, according to parkweb this road is 2wd to the Bennies and 4wd from there on in; although it appears that 4wd is only recommended, it's only rough 2wd, apparently not impossible. But, the road in south from King Hut direction sounds quite nice, although definite 4wd.

Which was have people done this before? What was the road like?

G'day,

Haven't done Lake Cobbler but have done a lap past Lake Eildon which was fairly scenic. The whole area is a nice part of the world you can't go wrong!

Enjoy

Re: Lake Cobbler

Hi Zhivan,

Nah, mother in law lives in Eildon, so I spend more than enough time there already.

Cobbler should be better at this time of year with the water level too, with the run-off from the high country as the snow melts. But more off the beaten track too.

Re: Lake Cobbler

G'day,

If you live in that area have you done the Barry Way? That is on my list as soon as I can get the time off work. I would love to do a trip from Sydney to Phillip Island (for the MotoGP) and include a run down the Barry Way.

Cheers

Re: Lake Cobbler

I have done Barry Way many years ago, but it was a rush job as I had a hankering for seafood and was making a dash for Lakes Entrance. Don't remember much of the road, but the food I remember well. emoticon
