Re: Recall for the T31 *Steering Related*
It doesn't really matter what colour the recall stickers are, but dealers are required to either put the sticker on or give you a recall service invoice confirming the recall service has been done.

Re: Recall for the T31 *Steering Related*
Serge
I have the same thing, sounds like the tyres are always squeeking on shiny concrete.
I too will take it back, maybe Friday.
Glad I'm not the only one.

Re: Recall for the T31 *Steering Related*
It turns out that my squeak is not steering related, instead its suspension.
The front spring and the rubber gasket underneath it,is rubbing on the strut causing the squeak.
Taking it back to Pedders tomorrow to get it looked at.

Re: Recall for the T31 *Steering Related*
Went to Pedders and they found nothing wrong with the suspension but they found that the boot in the input shaft to the steering box was rubbing. Sane as what Serge had described.
The boot bulges enormously with the new clip underneath it, I hope it doesn't wear through eventualy.
Went staright down to Gestapo HQ and told them about and they wanted to book it in for next week, I said no, and they said they will have a look at it.
They said that the boot was rubbing above the input shaft and they lubed it up. So far so good and they said if it played up again to bring it back.
The mechanic I spoke to was the most pleasant experience I have had with NMG as he seemed to actually care about the problem.
If anyone wants to do the squeak test, just start your car on the tarmac and while in nuetral turn the steering wheel from left to right without letting go of it and listen for it, it sounds like the steering wheel is rubbing on the dash.

Re: Recall for the T31 *Steering Related*
Took me three goes to get this recall done.
Attempt 1: Dealer did not take the VIN and Nissan would not send them the parts
Attempt 2: Dealer took the VIN but another dealer had already used MY VIN to do someone elses X Can't say I was happy.
Attempt 3: Took a bit of convincing (4 days back and forth between the dealer and Nissan)of Nissan for the dealer to get the parts as according to them my X was already done! But....she's now had the steering recall completed.
Cheers
