Where on the dash did you install it Stephen?

Have been looking at one for awhile now and was wondering where it will fit?

Re: loafer's ride

Not on the dash, nor in the console Scot, but rather had the UHF neatly installed in the glove compartment (RHS - where there is a sectioned off area for a CD stacker) emoticon The unit I bought has the controls, etc on the hand piece, complete with speaker.

Also had the unit wired directly to the battery (by-passing the ignition), so that it can be used without having the carkeys in (for emergencies, if needed).

EDIT: I will take some pics over Easter and post them when I get the opp emoticon

Thank you for the reply Stephen.

Sounds like a great set up.

Will check back when we get back from holidays on the pics.

UHF internal install (as promised)

As you can see from these pics, the unit is neatly tucked away in the glove compartment, and doesn't take up too much space at all emoticon

Nice job Stephen and a neat install.
You can hardly notice it in that glovebox.
Can you turn the unit on/off from the handset? Saves opening the lid everytime if you can.
What model no. is the radio.
Ive got a TX3200 which I am looking to install in the pop down door.

Cheers Tony

The unit is from Uniden (UH400SXRM) and the handset allows full operation (channel changing, on/off, volume .... everything you can do on the main unit). They also supplied a base handset (just speaker and talk button), too.

Good luck with your UHF installation

Nice Stephen
I've got one of those REDARC solinoids that I pulled off the Patrol (before I got rid of it) here at home waiting to go into my dual battery system, they are worth the money.
Top unit.

How did you set it up with your battery?
