Re: Local Brisbane day trip
Sister-in-law's wedding down the coast this weekend, so I'll have to opt out of this one... thanks to Jamie for the heads-up, and I'll be keen for September (that'll give me heaps of time to check insurance, organise UHF and recovery kit and stuff too!). I've got visions of giving all the Dirty Weekends trails a hit once I get the car run-in and myself up to speed (all my off-roading has been done in agricultural machinery, so I'll need to work on my finesse methinks!).
Hope y'all have a good run... I'll be keen for the next one!

Re: Local Brisbane day trip
Not too sure if I sent them an email or not sorry. I spent two hours or so going through the list of newby first posts and queensland runs looking for Queenslanders and ended up getting a bit confused as to who exactly I sent them to.

Let's go X-Trailing!
How does this coming Sunday 31st August grab you guys?
"Dirty Weekends" tour # 18 - O'Reilly's ?? Total disance 39km (from Beaudesert - 1 hour south of Brisbane) with 12km unsealed gravel / clay roads.
Suggested meeting point is the ANZAC Memorial (intersection of Mt Linesay H'way and Kerry Rd).
Is an 8.00am meet-up too early? Perhaps 9am would suit better.
O.K guys, this is the details of the trip meetup points. I think we should go with 9am, don't want to get on the bad side of the better half's.
We'll have at least two UHF's and enough recovery gear (not that it will be needed) and everyone will bring a cut lunch and supplies.
Don't forget your cameras. Stephen and Scott, I have your mobile numbers, if the other drivers want to PM me theirs in case anything happens on the day that would be good.
There is still more time for anybody else who wants to come along.

Re: Local Brisbane day trip
Hello Gang!
Count us in! This will be our first foray into the drive days and the very first time we have done anything with our Exy that is remotely 'off road' so we are looking forward to it.
It will be great to see some of the experienced hands at it and learn what some basic capabilities of the car are.
See you all at 9.00 am by the war memorial (which is next to KFC I believe), with a lunch and liquids.
BlakThunda, I will PM my mobile number to you, just in case you need to change anything.
See you all soon
Gordon & Sarah.
