Re: Local Brisbane day trip

Let's go X-Trailing! emoticon

How does this coming Sunday 31st August grab you guys?

"Dirty Weekends" tour # 18 - O'Reilly's ?? Total disance 39km (from Beaudesert - 1 hour south of Brisbane) with 12km unsealed gravel / clay roads.

Suggested meeting point is the ANZAC Memorial (intersection of Mt Linesay H'way and Kerry Rd).

Is an 8.00am meet-up too early? Perhaps 9am would suit better.

If we could post who is keen to come and numbers, then we can organise some catering details. At the last trip, each of us brought something to contribute. Or perhaps we could just bring our own "eats". Open for suggestions . . . . .

Re: Local Brisbane day trip

Vicky & I will be there. 8am is good for us! In terms of catering we're o.k to bring our own lunch and might be easier if we all do, but if you are offering to bring some of your wares for morning tea, we will gladly partake.

Are there BBQ facilities or is it a cut lunch?????

For all participants on this run, please read this info Here regarding insurance and liability.

Steve, you will need to give the run a grading as per This guideline in case you can get to it before I get home, If not I'll post it straight out of the book later on tonight.

I'm keen for the 28th September as well.

 emoticon

Edit: This track is graded Easy bush driving suitable for 'soft roaders' and camper trailers but not in wet weather. (Dirty weekends book)

A good drive for newbies to off road work!

Count Wendy and myself in as well.
Cut lunch might be a bit easier all round.

Looking forward to the weekend.

Re: Local Brisbane day trip

Thanks for the invite Jamie but busy this w/end, I actually done that trip 3 weeks ago the track was very dry and rutted so had to pick my way around some of the deeper holes but easy and still a good day out, there is a place about 3/4 the way up Duck Creek Road called Shephards Lookout where you can light a fire for cooking or take a portable B.B.Q with you, Have fun.

Re: Local Brisbane day trip

Are there any other Brisbane Exy owners interested in coming along?

And what about our brothers & sisters from the Gold Coast? The more - the merrier emoticon

Should be a great day. There is a possiblilty of a shower on Thursday in the Nerang area, but the forecast for Friday - Monday is mostly sunny. emoticon

Thanks for the "heads up" Wayne re the road conditions. It's always good to know what to plan for.

Re: Local Brisbane day trip

Hi Everybody

Just a question about the starting time wouldn’t 8.00am at Beaudesert be a bit early if the trip is 40klm and we are planning to be there for lunch?

Regards
Jeff
