proud owner of new Tl
Well a new addition to the family - Twilight, manual, Tl - picked it up from the dealer at 6pm and have begun the X-trail experience.
Few extras such as nudge and tow bars, driving light harness, the moulded rubber protection strips doors, front and rear, and rubber floor mats, metal door strips and rear door protection and second drawer. Head unit removed and Kenwood DVD GPS Bluetooth TV tuner(digital) and reversing camera unit installed - waiting for integration cable to interface with steering controls. Will consider tinting later when the bank balance recovers.
Filled up with BP Ultimate Diesel to give it a bit of a treat and checked tyre pressures - all have been set by the dealer at 40psi. I normally run at around 36psi - have not had time to check the receommended settings.
Service intervals are set at 10000kms or 6mths.
Ok off for another drive now!
Will fit spotties and bash plate this weekend.

Re: proud owner of new Tl
There isn't much difference in the layout of the engine bay between the Petrol and Diesel and both have very little space for a second battery (unlike the T30).
P.S. John's first post in this thread states that get the manual version

Re: proud owner of new Tl
Will take some pics & post - just busy driving - nearly 500clicks and a shake down country run next week. Will do the offroad stuff after 1000.
As Jalal said, no room for a spare battery & the one fitted is befitting a diesel a rather large one.
Acceleration is quite deceptive & most of the time it's fourth/fifth with sixth for 100 and over. Sat on around 120 briefly and is was ticking over just above 2,000 and effortless.
You do get to 'feel' the diesel when idling but not objectionable.

HI Kev - 'sleeping the X-trail'
With three kids and one 18mths, it's not a bad idea. Except, I know if I do it once, she might make it permanent. Definitely would be quieter and I would not have a serial motivator always telling me what I have to do!!
