Re: T-31 Consumption Indicator.
You will find that all of the reported by Nissan fuel consumption estimates (and other manufacturers use exactly the same guidelines) are based on GVG measure, which is the Green Vehicle Guide taken from ADR81/01.
Details of the above can be found HERE
In reality, the fuel consumption figures will depend on your style of driving, road conditions and how many passengers and/or load are you carrying. For city type of driving in a new car, 11.7LT/100kms is pretty much spot on. You will find that consumption will reduce as the engine gets run-in (not that is needs any run-in period) and settles.

Re: T-31 Consumption Indicator.
Next time you fill-up note down the trip meter reading and the number of litres you put in the tank. Always zero your trip meter to get an accurate reading and you can then compare it to the computer reading you're getting. I don't think the on-board fuel consumption indicator is accurate as it takes driving conditions and any sudden surges.
P.S. Thanks for your kind comment

Re: T-31 Consumption Indicator.
Mr T, how old's your vehicle? While the Nissan dealer didn't specifically mention it when I picked mine up, my last couple of Fords have had consumption meters, and the delivering dealers have always cauthioned that it would take a couple of fills and resets to calibrate the meter reliably.
