Re: My First Big mod for my T31. Radiator protector

Thank you dlpeek.

There was some method in my madness.

I opted for the edging material as the raw cut mesh would have scratched the paint and plastic and I selected the external placement to maximise support by the grille bars to the mesh against stones, insects and wind pressure.

Also I didn't want to remove the grille or bumper.

I do feel a bit dumb as I missed an entire thread on Radiator Protection in "Int/ext accessories and mods." as I was fixated on categorising the making of the inserts as a DIY job and only looked here. Even then I missed this existing thread.

However in the end it is just another way to skin this particular rabbit. Easier than most but not as neat as others.

Edit: I thought it might be useful to add some closeups of the edging material:

Yes and thanks to you DogTrail I have also replaced my temporary protection ( lost original effort which fell off somewhere due to loose clips) with a replica of yours using the crimp edging as well and cable ties.......I am more than happy with the result.

cheers
