Combination Meter Lamp type

The 4wd indicator lamp (not the fault lamp) has just blown in the dash.
It is shown in the manual as a 1.4W but I cannot find what type.
It has a push-in end.

Can anyone let me know what type it is please?

Re: Combination Meter Lamp type

Kev,

If you mean the 4WD indicator behind that black strip in the dash, then the wedge bulb is either size T5 or T6.5 (both will fit I think). It is the one with the brown base (the base stays, so you will only need to buy the wedge bulb).

These can be ordered from Repco and available from NARVA

Thanks Jalal.
I've got the bulb out so I'll compare it at the auto shop and update this post with the actual type once I get the replacement.

No worries mate, we should also mention that this applies to Series I T30 only, as the Series II dash bulbs are actually crystals and not the same.

Re: Combination Meter Lamp type

The brown base bulbs are the lower wattage T5 and the black base bulbs are higher wattage T6.5

The Narva bulbs are 1.2W and 1.7W instead of the Nissan 1.4W and 1.8W which does not matter much, but the Narva bulbs have smaller bases and seem to be looser in the bulb holder so I'm going to look around for another make which is closer to the Nissan ones in fit.

You can try squeezing in the contacts of the base to make the bulb sit firmer in place or try Hella or Osram ones, as I believe they make them too.

Re: Combination Meter Lamp type

I got a small screwdriver and pushed the 4 metal spring contacts in the base closer together and the bulb fits much firmer.
All good.
