Hi Terry, when you said Nissan admitted were you referring to Nissan head office of just your dealer? Just want some info before I take mine back to Lander Nissan.

Thanks emoticon

Re: T31 Cruise control issues

Hey Matt
Had mine fixed by Giant Nissan Osborne Park WA, drives like a dream now, totally different car to drive. took it to Kalbarri (600km each way) last week and couldn't fault the cruise control, car also performed heaps better,so nissan do know about it. They re-coded the engine management.
Good luck
Mal

Re: T31 Cruise control issues

At my recent 40,000km service I asked Lakeside Nissan (pooraka SA) to fix my cruise control. Same issues as here; holds constant speed only on dead flat roads, overspeeds just as road dips slightly, overshoots on resume etc etc.

Thanks to twj1958 for his help with this too as Lakeside were interested to know it could be fixed.

Got a call today from Lakeside - bring car in as Nissan Aus. have provided a Software Patch and we would like to update your car with it to fix the Cruise Control issues.

It'll be done next week so I'll report here on how it went.

They did say they have never applied a software patch before so they want 2 hours to do it carefully - can kill the car (bit like a computer motherboard firmware update) emoticon

Fingers crossed. emoticon

I believe that if you have the CVT auto the software patch also upgrades the ECM and TCM to stop the reported rattling sound when hopping on and off the throttle.

Peter.

Re: T31 Cruise control issues

That makes a lot of sense as there has been a previous comment somewhere here about the engine and CVT not working together properly in terms of the cruise control and perhaps that would affect the noise issue as well (reduce the ability to have a situation where the engine speed matches the CVT speed exactly ie no torque at all - no drive or engine braking)

Re:

So, will we get a recall, mail out or something from Nissan about this or do I have to try book into a Nissan dealer ASAP in case they will charge me for it when I am out of warranty.

From memory, I think this is what they did with the Murano CVTs in the USA and also gave them a 10 yr warranty.

Re:

Matt,
I don't think you will get a recall as it depends on how many other complaints nissan have had about the matter.
Best to ring yourself and talk to them.
