You can have all the space saving you want and since (as you stated) you rarely get a flat tyre, you might as well not carry one at all and use this kit as a boost of confidence emoticon

Don't get me wrong Geoff, am not trying to talk you our of it, I just don't see a real purpose for the space-saver spare, especially when the car didn't come with one for a very good reason.
