Re: Trips in Vic
Hi Stu,
Have a look at the brief trip report i made in that section under Toolangi Day Trip. If this takes your fancy then you might like to join us in the future. Perhaps we could start gathering some ideas of a destination. End of Feb or March would be a good time. If we camped out for the night perhaps either Black range state forest (around Narbethong and Buxton) or Rubicon / Cathedral ranges area (Rubicon and Thornton).
I will sus out some ideas with the club. Any sugestions are welcome.

Re: Trips in Vic
I haven't explored the area between Mansfield and Mt Sterling etc in my Exy yet. As you said there is a lot in this area around Jamieson, Sheepyards flat, Craigs hut and even around Mt samaria to the north a little. You are welcome any time to come to one of our clubs monthly meetings and see how things run. A couple of our members are around the Mill park/ South Morang area which may be close to your location.
I have quite a few of the Rooftops maps so it may be worth noting which tracks are suitable for us on your camping weekend.
Cheers ,
Anthony.

Re: Trips in Vic
Were they trip suggestions which you had in mind? Am thinking about a day trip perhaps in the Yarra state forest shortly after the new year is upon us. This will be a small group with around 5 or 6 vehicles max. This trip would not be an AWDC trip ie a forum event organised by myself with suggestions from other willing participants.
Grading will most likely be easy with a couple of medium sections, most likely i will include tracks around Powelltown which i have driven before. Some which i haven't done may also be planned. A small group would allow an easy shuffle if we had to turn back on any unsuitable sections. Any suggestions welcome. I will be unavailable on Thurs 8th - Sat 10th of Jan, Back to work on the 12th. First weekend in Jan to wed 7th would fit in well.

Hmm it appears my previous post was deleted, and with no notification or justification.
I guess my suggestions were not welcome.
Please don't make assumptions and wild guesses. A few posts got lost last night across Runboard due to a server problem, chances are yours was one of them.
To be honest, I didn't see your post at all.

Re: Trips in Vic
Understood.
However I did review the message after posting and it did appear. The message shows in my recent posting list. Forgive the assumption, but it did appear as the most logical explanation, as in normal conditions if a form message fails to post, it does not normally appear in my recent posting list.
But as you say, things go wrong occasionally.
