Re:
Good news Eddie, but unfortunately when your warranty runs out you'll have to get used to the gauge.
I thought that parts and labour had a 12 month replacement warranty on them, only to find out that it ceases when the 3 year warranty expires.
The dealer warranty isn't much chop as they said they will acess through their insurance company if its a safety issue or not.

Re:
They must have rebooted the ECU as well with new software.
Nice for the dealer to just do that, it won't happen here unless we jump up and down and make a noise about it.
Strange, check to see if your instruments dim if they didn't before.

Re: Re:
I did read in an other thread about the dimming and gear console lighting.
The dashboard dimming never worked and still doesn't. Tried it with both buttons, all menu settings, lights on and off.
My gear indicator does light up when switching on the lights.
Might be of interest:
During the last 6 month's the CTV started to develop a whine, which became stronger and stronger to the point that my wife started to notice it. mainly when Free-wheeling.
This was mentioned to the dealer when the car was put in for service.
Don't know what they did, but the whine totally disappeared. Car is again as quiete as ever.
Other than these minor things (Including rear sensor being erratic) the car never missed a beat during now almost 70,000 KM's.
By now also stock tires need changing.
Would buy one again.

Re:
Try the wreckers and see how much a set of used sensors would set you back and maybe try replacing them yourself to save some money.
Maybe try and find sensors from the Series 3 or 4 x-trails, as we haven't had any problems reported for the new shape T31 as yet.
