It looks like I've got one bar short of a jail cell again.
Its happened the last 4 fills and no matter how much I shake the car it still reads one bar short of full. emoticon

Re:

Its starting to look like that these fuel senders have a life span of 18 months to 2 years before they start playing up.

Re:

After filling up mine usually shows one bar short, but after stopping for a while and restarting it usually, not always, shows full, I really am not concerned if it shows one bar short because it still gives a reliable reading, I have my trip computer set to distance to empty anyway.
I mean if it was still a analogue gauge would we be really be so concerned, or would we even notice, if it didn't go all the to the top.

Re:

Mine used to do that for ages, show one bar less, then drive around for a while and show full bars.
This must be a sign that the gauge will soon play up as have had the same symptons last time as well.
I still am getting the range out of the tank, just not showing on the gauge.

Well since getting the Xy back I have experienced all of the lights going up to the full mark.
2 tanks so far, still getting around the 650-700km/tank mark.

Just wondering if in another 20k it starts to not show full again.
Only time will tell.

That was written on the 11 December 2009,.
It took 60k for the problem to start again.
Car is booked for 80k service in 2 weeks, just wondering should I tell them now and get it fixed, or wait until the dealer waranty nearly expires and then have it replaceed.
Might talk to them first.
