Re:

Thank you for the install guide. I fitted the LED (blue) plates today. Some notes from my install.

I bought my wire from ebay and when I did I bought a wire which was 24 AMG(wiki that). 5m each of red and black was enough.

When you are testing, always connect the black(neg) wire first before the red. I think this is why i blew the cabin light fuse. A trip to SCA is always full of adventure.

When I was satisfied the LED plates were working. I removed the cabin light fuse in between installing and testing each side.

While soldering, I taped down the wires to help keep them in place.

I ran a serial circuit. So the pos+ from the cabin light ran to front LED, the neg- from that went to the pos+ of the rear plate and then neg- of that back to the neg- of the cabin light. While running the wire, each time I pulled the red all the way through from the cabin light and brought through all the red wire I could before cutting it. The balck I did not need to do that as It was going into the pos+ of the rear, so I was able to cut the excess off there.

I had difficulty with the plates staying down with the provided double sided tape. So I went to bunnings a bought a glue. "Welbond" 227ml says "Bonds most anything!". Seems like a poor translation from French but the message is what i needed. I applied it in the center on both the LED plate and on the car plastic. I also applied it to the double sided tape. I used gaffer tape and "tied" it down while waiting for it to dry.

I have some inner kick plates which I plan to also glue once the outer plates have dried and the gaffer tape removed.

Anyone looking for help in western sydney can PM me. emoticon

Re:

I found that too Mike,
I just connected the + to the - and visa versa.
Yeah the tape doesn't hold it down very well, I used extra tape especially on the ends where it needed it most.
Later on it still peeled up and was just scraping the bottom of the door before I sold the Xy.
