LED Kick Plate Installation Help.....
Hey there all, just a quick question regarding the installation of the LED kick plates.... i know there was a previous thread when i first found the Forum, regarding the installation of them. It was just written text, no pics, but i just cant seem to find it again.
Does anyone know where i can locate it? Or if anyone else has installed them, can you give me a few hints or tips, or maybe some pics to assist?
When I purchased mine from Jalal, he advised me to hook them up to the center cabin light. But, he said, all four will light up when you open one door.
I'm thinking of somehow attaching the wiring to the drivers interior door light, and visversa for the passenger side, so that the front ones will light up when the corresponding door opens. The rear two i'll attach to the center cabin light, as there is no way (that i can think of) to set them up individually.
If anyone can help, if anyone has an idea, it will muchly be appreciated And if you all would like, when I get to the installation, I'll take some pics and document the process.
Cheers

Re: LED Kick Plate Installation Help.....
Matt,
Haven't I emailed you the installation instructions for these which includes pics? I can't remember now if I have done that.
There is very little benefit in hooking the kick plates to the front door courtesy lights and only connecting the rear ones to the centre cabin light, as even though all 4 would light-up if connected to the cabin light, only the door that is opened would actually reveal the lit X-TRAIL word, the rest of the kick plates won't be visible and the light from them would be blocked by the door edge when shut, so I suggest that you hook all 4 of them to centre roof cabin light.

Re: LED Kick Plate Installation Help.....
Sorry Jalal, I never received the instructions. If you could send them again, i'd really appreciate that!
I dont know much about auto-electrics, power consumption and tech stuff like that, but wouldn't having all four plates lighting up all the time cause some sort of power drain ? Thats what I'm concerned about.

Re: LED Kick Plate Installation Help.....
Matt, these are LED lamps we're talking about, not 4 Hella or Lightforce spotties wired up to your cabin light. hehehehe
There will be no power drain at all and that is guaranteed. I have been using mine for over 3 years now on the same car battery
Email me at the shop and I'll email you back with the fitting instructions.
