posticon Day trip to Charlie Moreland camp ground - Kenilworth

Notch up another trip for Queensland on Sunday 30th when Freewill11 (Scott & Wendy) and BlackThunda hit the trails.

The day started out rather ominously when I forgot to turn off my lights when we got to Charlie Moreland day use area and ended up with a flat battery. What an intro to Scott & Wendy that must have been on their first trip out with other forum members. A quick swap out and startup saw us get on our way.

this being the first time I'd gone out with the new T31, I was very interested to see how it handled.

We had our first mishap within half an hour of driving when Scott was navigating a mud pit we had to drive around. Unfortunately he slipped down into a hole and got stuck. I felt awful for him as the car is only 2 months old and I'd taken him off road and he ended up in a hole and pushed his bumper bar in. emoticon

Well we tested out the tow bolt of the new T31 and it held up O.K and then took off for some more adventures.

A few tracks we drove up came to dead ends which resulted in some precision 4, 5 or 6 point turns.

Back to the camp area for some lunch and we ended up having some lunch friends drop by so that was pretty cool.

After lunch we went exploring again and ended up some very slippery tracks and some really challenging driving and then we said farewell to Kenilworth and made tracks home. We parted ways with Scott & Wendy and ended up stopping on the way home to give the young fellow a bit of a drive. We managed to find a nice hill to test out.

A really great day and good to meet some newby forum members and check out the T31 in the flesh.

I will add some videos when they get uploaded. Thanks Scott & Wendy and a pleasure to meet up, see you on the tracks again sometime soon.

Our thanks to Jamie for showing us around and giving us a taste of what our Exey can do. She may be only 2 months old but we bought her to get away from it all, so Jamie, please don't feel bad about us ending up in the hole. We were so thankful to have you there to help us out and give us the benefit of your experience. We're looking forward to seeing the videos.

By the way, the panel is popping back into shape by itself and will only need some gentle persuasion to get it back to where it should be. A new washer bottle has been ordered and a cut and polish is needed for the scratches, but we'll have to investigate what is hanging down under the car - looks like the muffler guard.

We had a great day and we're looking forward to going out again whenever you'd like to meet up. There may be others who would like to check out the T31 in the flesh or some new T31 owners who'd like to see what it can do, so please come and join us. One thing for sure we'll definitely be there!!!

Thanks again Jamie for a great day and all your help.

Wendy and Scot

Well done guys. emoticon

Nice to see yet another T31 in action and hope to see many more of them in the trips to come.

Scot, I don't think a bash plate would have helped your situation in any case emoticon

There are times when they can look pretty and there are time when they can look tough and that is the beauty of the exy and an appearance which can deceive many emoticon
