Easter weekend trip; in Queensland

Hey all you Queenslanders, looking for any interest in a drive and camp out for one night or two over the Easter weekend.

register your interest and any ideas on where we can go and I'll see about getting something together.

I will ring the Springs 4X4 park tomorrow and see if they have any room, not a bad place, you can view it Here

C'mon Queenslanders, let get out there!

The Australian X-Trail Forum requests all event organisers to clearly display and post a link to the existing "warning message" which can be found HERE.

Re: Easter weekend trip; in Queensland

Well no luck with The Springs 4x4 park - all booked out.

There is still availability for campsites at Charlie Mooreland campsite, Kenilworth if anyone is interested.

Plenty of tracks in and around this area, creek crossings as well.

Kenilworth State Forest and Conondale National Park
There are three camping areas at Booloumba Creek and one at Charlie Moreland. All require a camping permit and fees apply. All camping areas have toilets and taps. Preferably bring a fuel stove. Barbecues and fire-rings are provided for cooking. Bring your own clean-milled firewood, as it is illegal to collect firewood from the forest. Generators are not permitted.

Booloumba Creek camping areas 1 and 3 are nestled in luxuriant rainforest. They are for tents only — no campervans, caravans or camper trailers are allowed in these areas.

Booloumba Creek camping area 4 and Charlie Moreland camping area are in grassy open forest and have sites suitable for tents, large groups, campervans, caravans and camper trailers. At Charlie Moreland camping area, the toilets and some campsites are wheelchair-accessible with assistance. A large enclosed paddock is provided beside the camping area for horses.

Camping fees are $4.50 per person per night or $18.00 per family per night. A family group is up to two adults and accompanying children under 18. Children under five are free.

Or Peach Trees camping area has hot showers

The camping area is on the grassy banks of Yabba Creek and is set in open forest suitable for families and groups.

No firewood supplied - Camp fires can be lit only in the fire places provided and campers to supply own milled timber.

Coin-in-slot (20c) hot showers.

Re: Easter weekend trip: in Queensland

I'm interested, I'm sure the boys would love it out there.

Anybody else????? Would love company!

Here is the park if anyone wants to look.

Cost is $35 per night per car, no booking required. Some campsites have showers and toilets. I intend to go on Friday, stay for 2 nights and leave Sunday arvo sometime.

There is an event happening at the park that weekend as well if anyone is interested in watching.

Sounds like a good couple of days away but unfortuneately we are already booked for oter things.
A day trip around some of the forest tracks near Brisbane would be good in May.

Cheers
