**NEW FEATURE**International Members Country Flag**

Dear Members,

I had a thought cross my mind today in regards to our international members.

Seeing that we have many international members on our board, I thought I'd make it easier to identify them and show where they're from, as sometimes members do forget to update their location details and as such it is hard to know where they're located.

This is when the idea of adding a country flag as part of their ranking came to mind.

The flag will be located under the user's name like this:

This process is manual from my end, as a new user will not be allocated any flag when they first join the forum and only if I know where they're from, I will be able to allocate the country flag to their username, so it is VERY important for all international members to list their location either in their profile or as part of the introduction post they make.

I have edited as many international member's username profile as I could find based on their introduction posts and allocated the country flags accordingly.

In doing so, I was totally amazed to find out that we have 24 countries represented on our from from all over the world and they're:

(Canada, France, Germany, Greece, Ireland, Japan, Malaysia, Mexico, Netherlands, Norway, New Zealand, Philippines, Singapore, UK, USA, Indonesia, Argentina, Philippines, South Africa, El Salvador, Spain, Brunei Darussalam, Russia, Egypt)

I probably missed a couple as well which I'll find later LOL emoticon

Here you go. What an international forum ours is!!!

I have also assigned the Aussie flags to myself and Noel as Admins of this forum.

I initially wanted to assign the Aussie flag to all local members, but doing so proved very hard to manage, as I would have to change it to each and every one of you manually, so the default setting remains unchanged and with that, if no flag is assigned to your username, you're considered Australian emoticon

Please feel free to point me to any international members username if they haven't been updated and I will do so straight away.

Hey Jalal, cool idea.

Is there anyway us Aussie members can help with the addition of the flag to our profile, ie you give us a code and we add it to our profile etc.......... emoticon

Re: **NEW FEATURE**International Members Country Flag**

Thanks Jamie, unfortunately the addition of these flags can only be done through custom titles using the admin control panel.

The difficulty is not with adding the Aussie flag to all members, rather having to manually change the ranking (newbie, legend, veteran...etc) as all of this would stop to work automatically when a certain number of posts is reached (as we currently have it set-up) and I would have to watch each member's post count to be able to change it to have that flag with the new rank.

I have put in a feature request to Runboard to have this flag enabled as part of users profile or at the time of registration, so when someone selects Australia, it will automatically allocate the Aussie flag and so on. Am not sure how long it will take Runboard to set this up, but lets hope for the best.

Re: **NEW FEATURE**International Members Country Flag**

In the meantime, I thought of offering the Aussie flag as an incentive to members of our forum who have reached the "X-TRAIL LEGEND, VETERAN and X-TRAIL-HOLIC" rank by request emoticon

Check yours emoticon

The catch is that once you're given this flag, you will have to notify me when you progress to the next rank, so I can update the pic with the flag (this doesn't apply to the X-TRAIL HOLIC rank which is the highest)

Sounds easy enough in theory, but........ which one of the following statements are correct and the way it should be?

You will need to inform us of what the levels are (i.e. 500 Legend - 1000 Veteran, etc etc) so we are aware of when we reach these levels and need to move up a status level and then we notify you of this and you change our status? emoticon

or

The status changes automatically and the flag drops off, we then notify you and you add the flag back on? emoticon

I thought you knew the existing ranking system already emoticon

It's explained HERE

Since your rank has now been manually granted and it includes the flag, it will no longer change automatically when you reach the next level (X-TRAIL VETERAN) after 750 posts, so you (and everyone else how has requested the addition of the flag) will have to keep an eye on your post count and let me know when you reach the next level, so I can update your rank manually.

Cool, thanks mate.

That post was before I became an active user of the forum and started reading everything as I was not very active for the first year of being a member so would have missed it.

The next level might be awhile in coming for me. another 149 posts. emoticon
