T31 Bluetooth option

Hi all,

Just wondering how hard it would be to intergrate bluetooth into a T31 after the fact. I'm happy for a bit of DIY as I shouldn't think it would be too hard being standard across the range in a lot of other countries... or am I wrong.

Thanks

Damien

Hi Damien,

I thought Nissan offerred the bluetooth kit as an added option/accessory to connect to all existing T31 head units. Have you priced it with them?

Damien,

I have checked with Nissan yesterday and the Bluetooth (hands free) kit is indeed an accessory they sell for the T31. It is priced around the $500 mark.

Anyway, here is the wiring diagram for it from the T31 ESM as requested.

Re: T31 Bluetooth option

Thanks.

I was thinking it would be around that price but now wonder why. By looking at that diagram it does make me wonder what is involved as a DIY option, as I assume there is a labour charge built in the $500. There appears to be no seperate "bluetooth module" rather a microphone and switches possibly with the standard headunit handeling the rest. Maybe its just a matter of picking these up as spare parts and running a few wires? Is there any thing further re: the components in the ESM

Thanks again

Re: T31 Bluetooth option

Hi Damien,

The ESM doesn't go into the detail of the bluetooth kit contents, as it already assumes you have it (EURO version)

But it does go into testing the Bluetooth kit to see if it works and it talks about having a microphone built into the head unit.

Here is the test which you may wanna try:

Also, Nissan seems to offer two Bluetooth kits as an accessory:

* Handsfree Mobile Kit (Bluetooth) part # B8330-JG000AU (priced at $585.00)
* Handsfree Mobile Kit (Bluetooth) part # B8330-JG100AU (priced at $550.00)

I am not sure what is the difference between the two kits on offer, but at least you now have a price to go by.

Re: T31 Bluetooth option

Just looking at the wiring for the T31 audio system you posted Jalal.
Trying to work out if the factory micro phone fitted to the car can be used for the after market JVC HU. The car came with factory bluetooth.

The HU has a 3.5 jack input, not sure of the wires to use and configuration to an audio jack.

Any help would be appreciated.

Re: T31 Bluetooth option

Hi Brett,
The microhone is very difficult access as it goes to the Tel Adapator unit which is mounted above the left rear wheel arch and not directly to the head unit, Although the Steering Wheel switchs appear at the head, unfortunately the phone connect button gets masked out and does make it to the head unit. Go to the Kitchen Sink DVD section as we cover this in some detail. You can find it here.

Regards
John
