Re: Wheel to Flywheel Power Conversion

Now that I like the sound of emoticon

Let me do a bit of research about that and we can start a new thread for it.

I have worked it out as Matt suggested from the dyno charts I have and our xtrail (Auto that is) is loosing about 40-45% in driveline, which is massive indeed.

Based on these figures and since I have a total of 34KW extra at the wheels (99.5KW total ATW), it would translate to approx. 188.6KW (34/0.6=188) at the flywheel compared to a stock auto exy with 132KW at the flywheel.

Based on that data, my calculations get about 80kW @ wheels for a stock-standard X-Trail. I might be lucky if I get another 5kW @ wheels from K&N filter and the TBS, making mine about 85kw @ wheels.

Would it be assuming too much by thinking that an automatic has more losses than a manual (it certainly feels like it when driving)?

Re: Wheel to Flywheel Power Conversion

Nope Rich,

Your stock exy (auto) can only manage 65-70KW at the wheels out of the reported 132KW at the flywheel and yes, the auto has more losses than the manual.
