I concer with naff and Bluexy..Lavis lane on a hotday is very soft and even big 4wds struggle through there.
I didn't have enough clearance, traction and power and got stuck in lavis lane. emoticon

New T31 xtrail got stuck emoticon Even Had my tyre pressure to 10 PSI , it was bloody congested in that lane. so you can't just charge through, otherwise I would have a better chance.

I was stuck like an hour and heaps of traffic coming through..A nice man in a V8 land rover discovery pulled me out and then I charge through to the beach . I felt much better after leaving that lane behind me.

If you are looking for a nice day out on the sand dunes and beach without stress, take the Anna bay entry, don't go through via lavis lane or esle it will be bog city in your soft roader. emoticon

Re: Stockton Beach 2 12 07

I just got back from camping at stockton over new years and had no problems with lavis, Car was fully loaded with camping gear and fuel. I guess my suspension lift really does help ( despite some people thinking its not worth doing) the sand was very soft.

On the way out i had to stop in the middle of the lane in the really soft section due to someone being stuck, but still managed to crawl out slowly.

 I love my exy!!!!!

If you want to do beach driving, get a lift!!! I had used to have problems getting stuck and having 4wd overheating, but now its fine and puting some of the big boys to shame!

You should have seen the look on the face of the guy in the prado that kept getting stuck on this one dune, i just cruised past and gave him a wave emoticon

Yeap... I suppose the Xtrail is fine if it is higher, I got stuck because I drove in a rut and my belly scraped the sand and digged in. Driver error too most likely.

So tell me about your lift kit..how much and where? emoticon

I was in the lane at about 4pm on the 29th and exited late in darkness at Anna bay.
Went back to stockton beach on the 31st but through Anna bay entry emoticon.

We might have bump into each other.

Re: Stockton Beach 2 12 07

The first time I went to stockton we went through Lavis Lane, it was christmas 2005 only 2months after getting the exy. It was SOOOO bloody hot and so much traffic the track was really really carved up and super soft. No sooner were we on the lane than cars starting getting bogged, I had to slow down and I too became bogged.
I had mates with me so we ended up pushing it out. a little further up the track we got stopped and bogged again. Way too many cars on the lane that day. We got out and helped push everyone out and then pushed the exy out again. Got to the dunes parked the car on some firmer sand and then went back to help push everyone out. There was no 4x4 that wasn`t getting stuck that day, land cruisers, patrols, turbo diesels you name it they got stuck.

Once on the dunes we had a ball and never had a drama with the car other than dragging the belly. Went to the wreck did the photos had a swim and then drove out through Anna Bay.

Look forward to doing it again.

I have a king spring lift with 225/70/16 bfg all terrains, there is more info in my members ride section or the thread in the suspension section of the forum

I was heading in lavis on the 30th at about 9. we stayed on the northen end of the beach. Came out on the 1ST. It was backed up when we came out and we had to stop for about 20 mins.

When i went in there was no traffic. I do hit lavis farily hard and fast. I dont back off unless i really have to!

here are some pics of our camp site
