I told the dealer that the CVT will make it the best seller in the market for sure, but I am not so sure about the Manual version.

I agree Jalal. I would be surprised if the CVT does not push the new exy to best in class. But even with the manual there is no question in my opinion that the new X-Trail is a cut above the competition in terms of pretty much everthing from space to safety to all road ability.

I just wish I had not gone for a test drive on Tuesday, now I have to worry about how I am going to get one!!

Those time are pretty impressive indeed for a stock T31.

A modified T30 (N/A mods) managed to get 9.45 seconds (0-100kms) and 17.3 seconds (0-400m)

Something to look forward to in terms of power mods for T31...Yummmm emoticon

If those times quoted in the drive.com.au article are for the 125kW T31 then the old 132kW (Series 1 and earlier Series 2) T30's may be even quicker - I wonder if they did tests in a manual or the CVT auto?

The Exy also recently won best Recreational 4wd in Australias Best Car Awards. Scoring well in all criteria , the exy nudged itself just ahead of it's main rivals which included CRV, RAV 4 and Santa Fe.

If a diesel version were to appear here it would certainly deliver a knockout blow and stimulate interest even more.
