Grey Ghost
Hi Guy's n' Gals,
FINALLY got a little time to do some forum entries. We recently purchased a spankin' ST-S in Slate.
I'm a very experienced 4WDriver, having up until a few years ago owning a GU Patrol with the works- Winch and bar, front and rear difflocks, 150L fuel tanks, Sat 'phone, Series 2000 air adjust suspension, dual wheel carriers and roofracks, Black Widow storage draws etc....
With fuel rising (I was complaining when it went to 85 cents a litre!) I went back to a sedan and sold my beloved Patrol.
I have been virtually everywhere a serious 4WD can take you in Australia- Cape York, crossed the Simpson Desert, the Canning Stock Route, Fraser Island, The Gibb River Road etc.
So when I recently wanted to evaluate a new vehicle the Exxy was right up there! Cheap, reliable, rides quite OK and for what I now want it for (occasional beach fish, taking the dogs out to the river, mayby Fraser again in the next few months.
So, hopefully I can start modifying the baby Patrol into a bit more of a competent bush ride over the next few months.
1st mod has been the 5% tint all round, next on the list is some SERIOUS recovery gear and a set of A/T rubber. Those Bridgestone Dueller H/T's won't last 5 mins in the bush where I go.
Best wishes all,
Craig and Joanne.
