Re: FORUM MERCHANDISE (Promotional Items)
Dear Members,
Thanks to the QLD forum contingent and their excellent proposal, you will soon have access to our very own Australian X-Trail Forum Car Flags
I have designed the car flags to look exactly like the big forum flag we take on our trips and it will come in 2 options, either mounted on the left or the right side of the car or you can get both.
The flags are digitally printed (unlike the standard Aussie flags you get at Australian Day which are only screen printed) and are made from Polyester which is more durable than the 68D polyester the Aussie flags are made of.
They will come with stiff 50cm flag poles that can be attached to the rear window and will slot between the glass and the door frame.
These flags are designed to withstand wind pressure when traveling at speeds of upto 90kms/hour.
I will soon announce their availability and pricing.

Re: FORUM MERCHANDISE (Promotional Items)
Hi Jalal.
I think this is a great idea.
I have one of the Aussie flags, plus one with the boxing kangaroo on it.
I have just been out to the Exy & had a bit of a play with them.
Our Exy has the slimline weather shields fitted, with them in place, the flagholder which fits over the window glass, wont allow the back window to close fully; the same as the front ones.
Which means, the window is open about 2inches, not holding the flag securely.
Just driving down the driveway at about20klm, the whole thing fell out. (not the window, just the flag.)
Might pay to have a talk to the people making them, to see if the base can be adjusted, to fit with the weathershields on.
John.

Re: FORUM MERCHANDISE (Promotional Items)
Hi John,
Good point mate, but I think all car flag poles are designed to fit on cars that don't have weathershields and I am not sure if you can fit it on the edge of the bonnet instead or jamming it between the glass section of the rear tailgate up near the tail-light?
I will ask the flag makers about this.

Re: FORUM MERCHANDISE (Promotional Items)
Just tried the flag on the bonnet, if you shove it right in, it will sit there, sticking out to the side, but no further than the side rear view mirror. (Dont know if this would be legal.)
Tried it on the tailgate, wont fit too good; but didnt want to shove it in toooo far, in case it damaged the sponge rubber seal under the glass.
If the base was altered, it would fit rear doors, with weathershields.
