Brisbane AWD Tag along Tour

Hi Everybody

Bob and Marian for Brisbane Hinterland 4WD tours have their 2008 calender out. They include two AWD tours on the 19/20 April and 5/6 July. I phoned Bob and the tour will be similar to the X Trail tag along their organised earlier this year with Jamie. Which I believe went to Northern NSW. All the details are not complete yet and the cost will be around $230 to $250 for two with approx $40 each for extra person.

I feel we X Trailers are duty bound to get a few people together for this trip to put those other so called soft roaders in their place (behind us). Is anybody interested for the April trip?

Regards all
Jeff

Re: Brisbane AWD Tag along Tour

Jeff,

I also have been in conversations with Bob & Marian regarding putting together another tag-a-long trip for next year and was waiting to hear back on confirmation of pricing and dates before posting anything. I was looking at the long weekend in January especially for the Xtrail forum members though, not the regular trip for all vehicles. emoticon

I am up for the April trip though because as it turns out I probably wouldn't be able to make the January one anyway as I will only get back from Airlie beach on the Friday and couldn't imagine the family would want to go out the next day after driving back from Airlee the day before. emoticon

So count me in as a definite tentative or is that tentatively definite.............emoticon

Re: Brisbane AWD Tag along Tour

Hi Everybody

It’s good to see some early interest in the tour seeing that its still 5 months away. Here is some more information I received from Bob and Marian

“The AWD tag along tour starts at Stanthrope and finishes at Tenterfield.
This is a great weekend and guarantee you would have a great time.
A BBQ dinner is included on this weekend. We have taken bits and pieces form
our Northern Rivers goldfields tour and added a bit of few different tracks,
suitable yet challenging and put together a great weekend for the AWD
enthusiasts. If you go to our comments/feed back page on our website you
need to find the comments from the Australian X-Trail forum to read up on
the tour.”

Cost is $230 per vehicle and includes 2 people in that price. Extra persons
are children $25, adults $50.

There are plenty of photos and videos from the trip report section from the guys you went on this trip last time.

Regards
Jeff

Re: Brisbane AWD Tag along Tour

Hi Jeff,

This is the exact same tour we did in February this year. I was hoping they would be able to put something together for us in a different area, say Glasshouse mountains or out past Toowoomba/Kingaroy somewhere.

Next time you are talking to them maybe you could mention this to them?

We usually go camping in the easter holidays and we've learned to go north that time of year, so if the weekend would coincide with that I am interested as well. That is of course if you don't mind a set of nsw plates tagging along...

Re: Brisbane AWD Tag along Tour

That is funny! My thinking was as last April we were in Byron so it's only a bit further up the road, I'm sure we'll be off North again April next year so why not. I've just checked the dates with NSW school holidays and 19/20 April is right in the middle, so that is looking good.

Re: Brisbane AWD Tag along Tour

Hi Jamie

There might be a misunderstanding with this post I am not trying to organise a trip with Brisbane Hinterland 4WD Tours I have just flagged to the forum that they have two new AWD tours running in 2008. These are based on the trip they did with the X Trails earlier in the year.

As I said earlier it would be good to see a few X Trailers on the tour (all states welcome) and see how the Xtrails compare with the other soft AWDs on the trip. Who ever wants to go just has to contact the tour company pay their money. The cost and description of the tour was posted earlier.

Regards
Jeff
