Re: Alloy Nudge Bar Series 3

Hi Jalal,
I was at a North Brisbane Nissan dealer today picking up a L/H cargo drawer and asked if the Nissan Alloy Nudge bar for the Series 3 was available yet. He returned with a pocket book titled Accessories Pricing Guide, effective 1st April, 2011. There on page 23 it is listed as F2160 3U000AU and in the column marked "Fitted RRP inc GST is $1050". This is nearly $280 less than I have been quoted elsewhere., which makes it more attractive. Same book and same number is listed for the Series 4.

Regards
John

Re: Nissan Series 3 Nudge Bar

Hi to all,
This week I had the genuine Nissan nudge bar fitted to my Series 3. It was something I wanted from the start but was unavailable. Like so many others, I looked at several aftermarket options but decided to wait until the Nissan had this on the shelf. The cross brace covers about the first 15mm of the air intake and if it was there when I went to Jindabyne, probably wouldn't have copped the rock in the AC radiator. The recovery point is totally accessible as you can see. Couldn't be happier with the result.

Regards
John

Re: Nudge Bars & Bullbars for the new X-Trail T31

Hi John,

I only just came across your thread in relation to the genuine bar for series 3. It's funny how different dealerships work cause I picked my exxy up on Christmas eve (2010) from Bathurst Nissan with the nudge bar fitted. Good to see though that they haven't increased the price as I picked mine up for $1000 fitted.

I also got a set of spotties and couldn't agree more with Jalal 'time for spotties' as it does look good with them on, even it does make it a little more difficult to clean the front!

Re: Nudge Bars & Bullbars for the new X-Trail T31

Hi Allan,
I did not wish to order my Series 3 with the tow bar or nudge as I was trying to keep the initial purchase price down and option up as finances allowed. In hindsight it may have cost a bit more, but what do you do? What was evident after the purchase was the trouble people were having sourcing a bar which fitted both thier XTrail and budget. I'm certainly glad I held out so I could fit the Nissan one, just looks as though it was made for the vehicle. With the options you have fitted to your Series 3, have you considered the weekend at Woolgoolga in October, be good to have another Series 3 to compare notes on.

Regards
John

Re: Nudge Bars & Bullbars for the new X-Trail T31

Hey John,

I salary sacrificed mine so it was in my best interest to get as many accessories fitted as possible. That way if I ever have to replace any I can claim them back through my account which has tax incentives. If you don't fit them when you purchase then any accessories you add later come out of your pocket and not the account.

Gotta say when I saw where the meet up was I was very interested as my partners sister lives just down the road at Sandy Beach. Unfortunately the weekend won't suit though as I am off to Broome at the start of August and get back the week before the meet up so won't be able to fit it in.

Re:

That's it guys, I have made-up my mind emoticon

The Red Bull will have the low type 76mm nudge bar in mirror polished alloy (as seen HERE

I like the front of the Series 3 & 4 so much (especially the grille) that I don't want to cover it with a full height nudge bar and I reckon having my Hella Rallye spotties on top of this low nudge would look quite good.

Chasing a price and fitment price through the local 4WD shop.

Re:

Called ECB today to price the 76MM low nudge for the T31 Series 4 in mirror polished finish and they quoted me $675.00 (supply only), the local 4WD shop said he can get it discounted to about $620.00 (supplied) , but I reckon he's killing me with his fitting costs which he says will take 2.5 labour cost at $75 bucks an hour.

I think am just gonna order it and have a stab at fitting it myself to save close to $200 bucks on fitting.

EDIT: Managed to negotiate it down to $695.00 (supplied & fitted), so all am waiting for is for the Red Bull to arrive emoticon
