Re: Nudge Bars for the new X-Trail T31

Thats good to know, I rang the dealer closest to me (as recommended by Sally) and they told me there wasn't a bar available for the T31 only the T30, mind you they also told me that there wasn't a towbar available either....

Very interesting about the Queensland Bullbars, nudge bar not fitting a diesel. As mine is also a diesel, I am back to buying a ECB.

Michael, did Opposite Lock in toowoomba give you a price on the high loop polished alloy?

Shiny alloy or hammer tone!

The hammer tone is great when off road and in the afternoon sun as the reflection does not hit you in the face!

But the choice is yours and I will offer my exy to anyone in Brisbane to have a view of the ECB hammer tone nudge to see what they are all about!

Just pm me to arrange a time!

Regards Scot

I'm pretty sure that ECB have 'diesel specific' bars as well, not just QLD bars.
I dot't know why cause the upper mount points are nearly as wide as the bar itself, leaving plenty of room for the intercooler.
The only way to compare is to put a petrol and diesel Xy side by side.

Re: Nudge Bars for the new X-Trail T31

Scot,
Your Bar looks BEAUT (per the photo in earlier pages of this thread ... but it is obviously the high version of the series. The big question .... is yours a diesel??? Did you install it ... and is there plenty of room behind those Lightforce's for vertical adjustment??

In ECB's photos, the low bar seems have lower struts that are much LOWER than those on the high bar .... is this a fact or just a trick of the camera can you say?? I can't see any real reason why the mounting system would be different for the two models.

Adam,
Brad @ Opposite Lock tells me that the shiny high rise nudge bar is $799 supplied, and the hammertone high rise $699 supplied. The bars are DEFINITELY listed as being compatible with the diesel.

The more I look at Scot's high rise above, the more I like the damned thing, so for the sake of a hundred bucks we may well opt for it instead of the Low model - the ultra low look of those tubes disappearing under the radiator in the pikkies of the LOW-rise kind of unnerves us a bit!!

Any ideas on how the prices compare with your own research?? It doesn't look to me as if Brad has busted a gut to reduce the price any, but we may well stand corrected.

Cheers all,

---

Re: Nudge Bars for the new X-Trail T31

I had mine fitted for around $800 all up and there is plenty of room behind the 170 Light force!

The high bar has worked for me for nudging a few leaning trees out of my way when trying to turn around is awkward spots!

Like I have said previously if you would like to see it in the flesh then you can pm me and we can meet somewhere and I am happy to answer any questions you may have!

Mine is a petrol!

Re: Nudge Bars for the new X-Trail T31

Scot, I am coming along for the Crows Nest drive next month so we can compare the petrol and diesel then. As for price; the rrp at TJM is $799 for the polished high rise bar.

I was quote $625 by TJM for a mates rates price, but my emails have since been ignored. That said if they could offer $625 in the first place any dealer should be able to negotiate a better deal.

Re: Nudge Bars for the new X-Trail T31

I found this nudge bar at www.equipeautomotive.net.au located in Brisbane. I like the lower cross bar to protect my inter-cooler, however I found out it is imported so I am concerned that it may not have any air-bag certification.

Has anybody purchased this bar or at least know if it is air-bag compliant.

the below pic was sent to me by equipeautomotive as it is not on their website with the following specs

The bar specifications are:
- Manufactured from 3” diameter polished stainless steel
- Lower cross bar for additional strength and protection
- Lower stainless steel protection plate
- Complete fitting kit supplied
- Fitting available
- The current sale price is $496.

Re: Nudge Bars for the new X-Trail T31

Equipe Automotive import all of their nudge bars from China and as far as I know none of them are air-bag compliant or to be more accurate, none of these nudge bars have been tested for airbag compliance, hence the cheap price tag.
