I read in my owners manul where it says not to use anything to clean the leather seats but a clean cloth and warm soapy water, allow to throughly dry. I't then says, something like, do not use cleaners, thinners, or other products which may damage the leather. It even says do not use saddlers leather rejuvinator, or something similar??? I'm blowed if I know what to do??nondisclosed_email@example.com (ironbark)Wed, 19 Jun 2013 09:22:00 +0000 Re:https://baustralianxtrail.runboard.com/p2057477,from=rss#post2057477https://baustralianxtrail.runboard.com/p2057477,from=rss#post2057477Same here Dave. I have used it in my T30 and when it came to trade the exy in, the dealership were amazed at how good the leather seats were, no cracking or any kind. I use nothing else but Eagle One products (polish, car wash shampoo....etc)nondisclosed_email@example.com (jalalski)Tue, 25 Oct 2011 04:58:45 +0000 Re: Cracking Leather XTrail Tihttps://baustralianxtrail.runboard.com/p2057473,from=rss#post2057473https://baustralianxtrail.runboard.com/p2057473,from=rss#post2057473Eagle One leather cleaner and conditioner is great stuff. Use it on all our leather furniture at home regularly, as well as vehicle interiors. Very well priced, and works as advertised.nondisclosed_email@example.com (Robbo0001)Mon, 24 Oct 2011 21:51:32 +0000 Re: Cracking Leather XTrail Tihttps://baustralianxtrail.runboard.com/p2057471,from=rss#post2057471https://baustralianxtrail.runboard.com/p2057471,from=rss#post2057471Hi folks, In a former life I cruised the streets in a lovely old Merc coupe... Ahhh the joys of impossibly over-engineered cars. Through the various merc forums and in talking to people at concourse days, I came across a leather cleaning/repair product line that is quite remarkable - Leatherique. I don't work, sell, promote or have anything to do with the manufacturers, but my god it's good. It's great for cars, home, boats, horse gear... Website (USA# here - Leatherique Australian distributers info here #scroll down# - Leatherique Aus Its certainly not the cheapest product#s) but it does an amazing job - check through the website for before and after shots, application instructions etc. It is not a 'wipe on wipe off' product as such, takes a bit of time to 'feed' your leather and restore it to its former glory. I've just got a 2004 Ti and the seats in that are good, but could do with a drink. If its good enough for a vintage Rolls or pristine Merc, there is no reason why our exys shouldn't benefit too. Read through the website and see whats involved - the Rejuvinator and Pristine Clean should be enough to bring our leather back to life. 500ml of each is heaps for the first job, with plenty left for future maintenance. LFaR, the crack fillers hey offer will sort out your seats with ease. Hence on the drivers seat the piping (the seam between the backrest and side) has some small cracks. I'd imagine there is a product that could be applied by a consumer rather than a commercial company repair, but anyone know whats available. Maybe something (resin or something) that can bind the gap...like a liquid paper pen???? If you have details on the product you used SA TRAIL, can you post a link or such?nondisclosed_email@example.com (Munners96)Mon, 19 Apr 2010 13:05:30 +0000 Re: Cracking Leather XTrail Tihttps://baustralianxtrail.runboard.com/p2041621,from=rss#post2041621https://baustralianxtrail.runboard.com/p2041621,from=rss#post2041621I got a product from Hallmark. Leather repair kit. It really works well. I repaired my front seats and it is almost impossible to see the damage. I forgot to take before photos and the after photos do not show any detail of the repair. That is why I am not loading it. The total damage was R99.00 Will it last? I will keep you updated if there is any change. nondisclosed_email@example.com (sa trail)Fri, 16 Apr 2010 20:08:29 +0000 Re: Cracking Leather XTrail Tihttps://baustralianxtrail.runboard.com/p2041462,from=rss#post2041462https://baustralianxtrail.runboard.com/p2041462,from=rss#post2041462I have got the same problem. It seems to be cheap side strips and piping. Here in SA we do get a product to fix it but I haven't tried it. I am thinking of replacing the seat covers.nondisclosed_email@example.com (sa trail)Mon, 12 Apr 2010 23:35:47 +0000 Re: Cracking Leather XTrail Tihttps://baustralianxtrail.runboard.com/p2005008,from=rss#post2005008https://baustralianxtrail.runboard.com/p2005008,from=rss#post2005008Generally when one buys a leather lounge from a reputable firm, they give advice re the care and maintenance of it. The recommended lounge care consists of regular (monthly with hard use) wipe over with a cleaning liquid plus a regular application of a preserving compound. Leather motor vehicle seats suffer far more stress and wear in that they frequently get very hot and suffer from dust and grime far more so than a lounge chair. I suggest you obtain some leather lounge cleaning and preserving products and similarly treat your vehicle. That won't repair the damage but should stop it getting worse.nondisclosed_email@example.com (Dunoon)Sat, 29 Sep 2007 15:04:40 +0000 Re: Cracking Leather XTrail Tihttps://baustralianxtrail.runboard.com/p2004944,from=rss#post2004944https://baustralianxtrail.runboard.com/p2004944,from=rss#post2004944Since we do not know where you are from, I assume you are in Australia somewhere. I just found some cracks in my front leather seats. The driver's seat has the worst cracking, though even the passenger's seat shows some early signs. What can I do to repair or replace these leather seats? The cracks are quite small at the moment, and at the very least, I want to stop it from getting much worse. I love this car and I want to care for it. Has anyone else experienced this? Regards, LFaR.nondisclosed_email@example.com (LiveFreeAndRoam)Thu, 27 Sep 2007 22:23:15 +0000
