posticon New Forum Background Image

Hi Guys,

In the spirit of welcoming the new exy to our ranks (in October) I have added a background image to the forum.

I would like to hear your views about this please:

A. Do you like the selected pic?
B. Does it cause too much distraction to you when browsing the forum?
C. Is it aligned and centered in your browser when you're using your PC?
D. Has it slowed down the loading time of the forum for you if you're on dial-up? (the image size is only 81KB)
E. Any other suggestions?

All feedback is welcome and we're hear to make your stay more enjoyable on the forum, so please don't hold back and give us your point of view as you see it.

We will go with the majority at the end (not counting myself and Noel) emoticon

Errrr. I don't think so Bob, because fiddling around with the forum layout to suit the background pic is not an easy task. Also we have the Members Section on the Main Site designed for this.

Picture looks great!

I find it a bit disconcerting with the background staying put while the rest of the page scrolls up, maybe the pic can scroll up as well!

Otherwise, looks great emoticon

Distracting to see it each side, my auto response is to maximise and only see the threads, but i can't.
Didn't slow down loading (slowest broadband).

A: Yes - it is an X-Trail.

B: Yes - seems I have to scroll down with each post to get past it...

C: Yes

D: N/A

E: To me, the forum looked excellent as it was - it just received accolades from several sources - why tinker with it ?

I may be odd man out here, but those are my views.

Cheers

Re: New Forum Background Image

Roger/Kev, as excellent as the forum is, if things don't change they tend to go stale and boring.

Changing occasionally gives the forum a 'Just Refreshed' look. Sparkles it up some for those of us that are online everyday, and those who occasionally pop in, well it's like looking up a whole new page on a website. emoticon
