But since there are now some new additions coming from Sydney and I'm not sure where they are all coming from, it might be better to meet at the Shell Station on the Pacific Highway at Berowra.

Might be a better idea to meet at the Shell... just to preempt any potential hassle.

Ok, Shell station at Berowra it is then. At Sydney take the F3, then the Berowra Exit. Turn left to the Pacific Highway / Berowra, then right at the lights onto the Pacific Highway. The Shell station is on the left - no idea about parking but we could build a nice queue of x-trails by the side of the road. This is around 47kms from Ourimbah which in theory we would do within 30 minutes, so I'd say we leave here at 9:00am at the latest. Here is a map:

The alternative to back tracking down the Pacific Highway is to drive through Hornsby, Mt Colah etc. Only reason I say that is that you can sometimes get a build up of traffic heading north for the weekend and that first hill on the F3 is always a bottle neck.

And from a few posts back now... yep, Sam will come to boost the girly numbers.

Re: The Watagans NSW day trip - 15th sep 07

Ok, ive got some good news and bad news.....

The good, The fire roads are in pretty good condition. They get a little bumpy in sections but its not that bad

The bad, The off road tracks are in very bad shape. The tracks that i used to rate as easy are now hard. The traks that were hard are now insane!!

I will try and go up again this weekend to find some harder but do-able trails, but at this stage we wont be doing any serious tracks

Oh and Brett, not much mud..... sorry
