Re: The Watagans NSW day trip - 15th sep 07

Hi

I was hoping on getting away with just going up there with H/T tyres which I have on at the moment (and they are relatively new). I was going to buy A/T's later this year (before my trip to Tassie in January ‘08) and just want to see difference in the tyres on and of the road. So you think I get away with the H/T tyre or should the new tyres earlier.

HT tyres will be fine. I have been up there plenty of times with Ht's and have never had a problem

Yep we are still good to go. It wont be to wet up there.

One thing to remember though, If you are planning to bbq. You may need to bring some fire wood and fire starters as the wood up there will proberly be wet. There are no gas/electric bbq's at the picnic sites. (unless you are bringing your own)

Im really looking foward to it emoticon

I have updated the firs page with the meeting points and times

MEETING POINTS!!!!
OURIMBAH exit on the F3 (just after the speed camera) at 9.30 am. Exit the F3 and turn left at the round about, This is a rest stop with plenty of parking.

From there we can head up the F3 and take the Morriset exit. This is where we can meet up with Brett. Take the exit, turn right ( back over the expressway) On the right hand side there is a Caltex servo so we can fill up as this will be the last fuel for the trip. We will meet Brett at the servo. We will leave there by 10.30am

Dont forget to read this too if you are thinking of attending CLICKY CLICKY

Ok, Shell station at Berowra it is then. At Sydney take the F3, then the Berowra Exit.

So is it confirmed with the city dwellers that we are meeting at the above location at 9am?

I will be installing my new Uniden UHF this week into the exy.

Do we have a specific channel we will be using?

On the subject of comms, I will have a spare GME hand-held UHF radio should anyone want it. As for the channel, we will have to see what is free in the area. Good luck with the install Milos.

We shouldn't let a few drops of rain spoil a day out!

I went and checked out the meeting point, it might be better to meet at the Mobil which is 200 meters further but you can't miss it where the Shell station is more shel(l)tered. In addition to that the forecourt is bigger at Mobil so parking will be easier.

From the F3, take the Berowra exit which is 10/11kms from the start of the F3, at the end of the exit turn left to Berowra then right at the lights onto the Pacific Highway.

If anyone comes up the Pacfic Highway from Hornsby, follow the road through Mount Colah, Mount Kuringai then the next built up area is Berowra.

The Mobil station is on the left after about 1km, after a slight bend in the road to the left a big "Mobil" sign is right in front of you. Parking is either at the forecourt or in Waratah road, the side road right before the Petrol Station.

I'll start on UHF 15 no (CTCS or DCS), then go up if the channel is busy already. If anyone needs my mobile number please send a pm.

I went out and purchased a hand held Motorola UHF-CB hand held radio with two hand sets last week so we could keep in contact with you through out the day.

Hi Guys,

I am very sorry, but I won't be joining you in this trip. My exy has just been modified with the piggy back ECU and it has been calibrated on the 19" alloys I currently have, so I don't want to stuff-up any settings by fitting the 16" alloys while I monitor the performance of this little gadget and the impact in terms of fuel economy.

I am sure you guys will have a great day and I look forward to the trip report with loads of pics and videos.

Have fun and be safe!

My previous post saying that we will now be coming as some of the ladies were going doesn't seem to have showed up!!!

Unfortunately I now have to go to a conference that weekend so we will not be coming.

Do not let a little bit of rain put you off!!! We went up to Katoomba yesterday and found a few tracks. It was raining - and freezing - in Katoomba, but the tracks were not too wet due to all the trees and the sun ended coming out.

Have a good day!!

Anita
