NSW Meet-up 30/6/07 - Sutton Park, Blackheath

Ok So I managed to get home first but I'm probably the closest, too.

I know we wont hear from Jalal until after he washes and polishes his car because he got a few spots of rain on it emoticon

I'm copying the video and photos off the camera now, but it will take some time to edit the rego plates out before I can upload them...

Report...

Bloody COLD!!! 7 degrees! Ok so everyone froze to death, but we all had a great time and wasted no time in getting to know each other - some new faces is always good to see - even if they have been forum members for quite some time emoticon I reckon the QLD meet-up would've been much warmer weather!

Others will have to report on the previous meeting points as I arrived first @ Sutton Park and setup the video camera to get everyone driving in the driveway to the park. Jalal's call 20 minutes before I got there stating "we'll be half an hour", ended up being 40 minutes after I got there! Luckily I didn't stand in the freezing cold with the video camera for that long emoticon

Most happened to bring their own gas BBQ's - even though I brought mine I didn't end up using it, and used the free electric ones provided on site - only it took 50 minutes to cook because they had to heat up from near-zero temperatures, then overcome the cold wind as well!

Did the usual "talking X-Trails" and checking out everyone else's modifications, and took heaps of photos.

It was an excellent day, and we didn't get rained on either - just very slight drizzle and the sun came out a few times momentarily, too. But it was still COLD!

Photos soon...

Hey Rich, I have been home for quite a while but decided to take a hot shower cause all the way driving back to Sydney with the car heater on, I was still shaking from the cold LOL emoticon

As Rich said, it was nice to meet everyone and finally put faces to those very familiar forum usernames.

Everyones ride was spotless and shiny BUT ONE! I'll let you guess who's that was when you see the pics. hehehehe

I ended-up waiting for Paul (anslow) at the Caltex station forever and was later joined by Ceasar. We waited for the NewCastle convoy to turn-up only to receive a call from Nathan saying they're near Glennbrook, which is about 40 minutes away from the park, so Ceasar and I caught-up with the guys and we made our way to the park to be greeted by Rich standing at the entry with a video camera and shaking LOL

Preparing the food using the electric BBQ was fun indeed, we started both of them and I had my food on one and Rich had his sausages on the other, all of a sudden my food was sizzling and steaming ( a good sign that the BBQ is working) and Richie's half was very silent...emoticon

So, he decides to move his 2 sausages to my half of the BBQ and the BBQ stopped sizzling as well. Not sure what he put in his sausages to cause that emoticon

Anyway, I'll let you read these quick reports while I start downloading the pics and will post them soon.

Thanks to everyone that attended, it was lovely meeting you all.

While leaving, I noticed a nice mud puddle to the left side of the main driveway into the park, and couldn't stop myself from reversing and having a play in it on the way out emoticon

Unfortunately the light conditions weren't very good on the day for photos. I guess you've worked out the answer to Jalal's question as to who's was the dirty X-Trail emoticon Not cleaned since a long time before the muddy Newnes trip on the June Long Weekend. Actually it's alot cleaner now than it was when I got it home that weekend!

(Come on QLD Guys! Where's your Trip Report, huh? emoticon ).

With such a big turnout I suppose a few meetup mistakes were likely. But in the end mostly everyone got there.

The pics look great.
Ahh Jalal ... the NISSAN flag emoticon

With everyone having nudge bars and spotties my Exy would have felt odd.

I love Rich's lowered Exy next to Matt's raised Exy. I want a set of adjustable coil-overs which will let me have both emoticon

I did try to warn you about the cold here.
Don't you people know about Damart Thermolactal Underclothes ???
We wore ours for a Thomas The Tank Engine night at Luddenham last week and I would have had mine on for the day. In the snow they keep you toasty-warm even in a blizzard.

Maybe Rich should have thawed his snags before he got there so they cooked faster emoticon

Glad the weather held off and you all enjoyed the day but I'm still grumpy I could not go along 8(

Am fine with that mate, it's not like we got signs above our heads saying who we're, although I already did that LOL emoticon

Nath: Email me the pic and I'll have a look.

Jalal,

The day out looked like it was fun but cold, looks like we'll have to pull our socks up a bit up here to get some catchin' up going.

Good idea about the flag mate, who did you see at Nissan about the flag? Service or Sales. Where I deal with at Wooloongabba, the service department is separate from the sales yard, I assume it would be the sales yard??

Did you borrow it or was it given to you?

Also, maybe we can have a flag done up for the Forum so we can fly this at outings, just a thought??????? emoticon
