Dave 4x4,
What grade of Castrol synthetic motor oil are you using. I am thinking to go with castrol
5~30.Does using synthetic give better performance? emoticon

Re: redline oil synthetic

We put redline synthetic oils in our 4.8ltr patrol and it now gives us an extra 100-150kms out of a tank everytime.!!! we swear by it. but on the exy i use semi synthetic oil in the engine and full synthetic for everything else, redline oils again. i.e, transmission, diffs. Mechanic says that due to the exy not having the most up to date engine there is no real advantage in full synthetic oil in the engine.

Re: redline oil synthetic

sorry for the late post,

The exy drives considerable better. When I say better I mean smoother. Driveline noise has been reduced considerably. I have a manual and the gear shifting is noticably smoother, no more clunking through gears.

As for fuel economy, I haven't tested it due to not having a consistent driving pattern/weekly routine to compare.

I'd still definately change to this brand because it defianlty will help in reducing the wear and tear on the car.
