Door handle trim

I did a search and the only thing I could find was your door handle garnish Jalal and a post about the new STs from the motor show so started a new thread but you can move or delete it if there is an existing thread.

Do they make the trim on the door handles colour coded (not the horrible grey plastic). If so, where would we be able to get them.

Not that I don't like the chrome but I have one tab broken on the drivers side and will replace them if I can get them colour coded.

Any help appreciated. emoticon

Re: Door handle trim

Th chrome door handle garnish which is available through the on line xtrail shop doesn't require replacement of the existing door handle trim, it just covers them in full without the need to take off anything.

Having said that, you can have your grey ones colour coded in black without removing them too.

Nath has done exactly that with the help of his brother and he can tell you more about it.

I colour coded the door moulds and mud-flaps as well.

Re: Door handle trim

Yeah, I thought of just putting the chrome garnish over it but my problem is that I have to replace one anyway as one of the clips has broken and everytime I go to open the door it lifts up a little.

Is this an item that you could get from the wreckers or is it something that needs to be got new?

Re: Door handle trim

Fair enough.

You can get it from the wrecker much cheaper of course, but if it's the driver's side, you may need to change the key cylinder so you don't end-up with another key to lock/unlock the car (manually)

Sounds like a good idea to get out for the day Jamie.
Maybe you could search BrisVegas to see what yards are around and become the Qld "Spare Parts Wishlist" contact ? emoticon
