Reading Cams post , I might "tee" into the inlet on the filter from the PCV as well....just to see what happens.
I wouldn't advise it Dave or Cam.
The breather takes clean air from the upstream (pressurised inlet) side of the throttle body which is a slightly higher pressure than the PCV line on the downstream (vacuum) side of the throttle body. The two pipes need to be separated so that the air can circulate through the rocker cover and crankcase as designed. See my pic from the service manual here.

Re: Oil Catch Cans
Only through hard engine loads will there possibly be any blow-by in the breather line and after around 50k the breather side of my dual catchcan is still dry (no oil drains out when I check).

Re: Oil Catch Cans
The Provent will solve all of your problems
Have the bracket made etc and the location down pat - just need the car back from Nissan now to install it

So its been removed and now resides, where it should have been to begin with , between the PCV and intake plenum.
Nice pick up Kev appreciate it.
When I picture a catch can its the biggish upright version (old school).
When I see Dave's, I can't believe how small they are.
Is this a new type?
Neat job Dave.

Re: Oil Catch Cans
Hi Tony,
What Dave is doing is using an air/oil/contaminant filter from an air equipment supplier instead of the usual upright automotive catchcan you are used to.
Since what we are trying to do with the catchcans is primarily the same thing (let air pass but nothing else) and we have low volumes to filter then this being cheaper is worth testing as Dave is.Only time will tell if it is as successful as the normal catchcans.
