Re: Melbourne 4wd Day Trip

Yarra Glen sounds like a great place to meet up. Just past the shops on your left heading towards Dixon's Creek is a park with playground and carpark. This could be a good spot to meet as it is off the road and away from the busy shopping area.

Don't know if 11.00am is to early to meet there? Heading off for a couple of days after Easter but will be back Friday afternoon. Will send a PM with my mobile contact to you Lance, before i go.

Cheers ,

Re: Melbourne 4wd Day Trip

Sounds great to me Anthony.
We'll be there, in the car park, at 11am on the 15th.

Now come on you lot, you've all had enough time to get things sorted, so who else is coming on the run.

3-4 hours driving around in the hills on a pleasant Sunday afternoon, what better way to spend some quality time with ya EXy. Picnic lunch, photo opportunities, scenery, maybe a walk in the bush, and all as gentle as you want to be on the EXy.

Come along boys and girls.

(Hey Anthony, just on a different note, do your kids have nicknames and/or favorite animals or things ?)

Re: Melbourne 4wd Day Trip

Last call for Exy owners in Melbourne's East or any one else who wants to drive in the Toolangi forest.
Will be away for a couple of days and back home on Friday, so we will assume by then all new participants would have expressed there interest.

I will bring my recovery kit including snatch strap, bridle strap, rated bow shackles, staun tyre deflators and compressor to re-inflate tyres.

Cheers,

Re: Melbourne 4wd Day Trip

Hi guys,

I'm going to have to pull out to. The black beast is going in for service... Had an interesting time up at Toorongo Falls over easter and cracked the exhaust. Had the exy resting on the side rails (Jacking points) with all four wheels off the ground.
Had a guy in a Rangie ask me if I had low Range... I laughed and put the pedal to the metal.

If you taking Two Hills Rd then be careful!!!
Not much happens along this road, very boring, but if you take the tracks off to the side of it then just be careful and take a proper 4WD with you as back up.
Just remember the muffler is to low on the exy and will have no problem in hitting terra firma.

Remember to post some pics of the day though.

Re: Melbourne 4wd Day Trip

So as at 5.00pm today it looks like it's myself and Lance and families. Spoke with my mate with the Pajero and he had a family barbecue crop up, so he couldn't make it also.

Around Two Hills road looks a little rough so will probably steer clear of that one. Have a couple of ideas in mind which are relaxing drives in the area.

Cheers,
       Anthony

Re: Melbourne 4wd Day Trip

Looking forward to it Anthony, meet ya in Yarra Glen at the park at 11.

Still not too late for anyone else to join in.
You only need to get yourselves there and enjoy the drive.

Sure beats mowing the grass or doing the housework.
