the part number for the genuine nissan cross bars to be used with these roof rails:

Part# KE730-8H600

This part number turned out to be the UK one and is not recognised in Australia by the Nissan system.

The correct part number for the ST-R cross bars is G380-VEQ500

The correct price is $320.00/set which is just ridiculous!!!

I haven't seen any existing ST-R owner discuss these cross bars on our forum before. Don't you guys carry something on your roof when camping? LOL emoticon

Guys (those mad enough like me) emoticon

The manufacturer told me that they will only be able to export 10 sets of these hyper roof rails to me (and not less)

So here is a target for you to reach.

P.S. Make sure you're not wearing any engagement rings before you say "Yes!" hehehehe emoticon

Re: Hyper Roof Rails with Lights

OK Guys,

With a GREAT helping hand from Tague, I now have the genuine nissan cross bars on my hyper roof rails. Thanks a million mate!

They came with the fitting instructions and a template to cut the 4 plastic covers that go on top of the 4 fixing points of the bars.

I was a bit scared cutting them, as any mistake, would have resulted in any of these covers getting damaged and I didn't fancy my chances to score a cheap replacement from the dealer.

Fitting the cross bras themselves was the most easy part. 2 bars and 4 screws and that was done!

Cutting the plastic covers took most of this morning, as the job had to be precise.

Anyway, they're on and they look great.

It is worth noting that unlike the standard roof racks for other models, these cross bars are only rated to carry 50Kg max. (compared to 70Kg) because each cross bar is only being attached in place by ONE bolt on each side.

OK, so this has finished the cross bars project, but I felt there was something else missing in the hyper roof rails combination LOL emoticon

After driving around for a while with the spoiler I had and which had the LED brake light, I somewhat got used to it, so I thought I'll do something similar to the hyper roof rails and make them stand-out even more emoticon

Image Image Image Image

I got this brake light from eBay for around 35 bucks posted from the US and it is awesome and VERY easy to install. 3 small holes in the aluminium spoiler of the hyper roof rails and it was all fitted. The wires run inside the spoiler as it is hallow and comes out nicely where the tail lights are. The wires are all hidden.

Am pretty happy with the result emoticon

So when's it going under the paint gun or are you going to leave them grey?

Or are they going to be (bling'd) chromed. emoticon

Leave what grey Jamie? emoticon

The cross bars are actually the black ones, those brushed steel sections are part of the hyper roof rail assembly and they match the rest of the exy perfectly.

Jalal,

Any updated photos of the rails with the pod installed on top?

Any chance you could take a pic of the beast outside of your carport? So we can get a better view of it.
