Re: 2008 X-TRAIL IS HERE!!!!!
This Exy will be easier to raise or lower the rear end at least with the suspension setup as it looks like ther is no rear struts

YET! he should have added Nearly all dealers are asking for the diesel version because they don't agree with Mr. Booth, but they have accepted the fact that it won't be coming in the first wave. I guess we will see what will happen when face-lift and upgrade models will flow through later on.

Re: 2008 X-TRAIL IS HERE!!!!!
This is an interesting piece of information!
quote:
The new X-Trail weighs 1,711kg
I wonder if that is Tare Weight or GVM, because if it is Tare Weight (and that is what I suspect being a larger/longer car) then for those of us in NSW this means that the new exy has just jumped up in class based on its tare weight (see RTA fees HERE) when it comes to vehicle registration renewal fees and instead of costing $262/year, this one will cost $373/year!
The current shape has a tare weight of 1395Kg and GVM 2000Kg

Re: 2008 X-TRAIL IS HERE!!!!!
That must be Tare weight. The following data is for the German spec cars:
Engine, Manual min/max, Automatic min/max
2.0 Petrol, 1557/1638, no auto option
2.5 Petrol, 1619/1674, 1640/1698
2.0 Diesel 110kw, 1700/1786, 1712/1812
2.0 Diesel 127kw, 1726/1780, no auto option
min/max = lowest spec weight/highest spec weight
of course these figures depend on the options the car has where the Europeans will probably have higher spec cars available.

Re: 2008 X-TRAIL IS HERE!!!!!
Here you go, so when we get the 2.5 version here, it'll weigh between 1619Kg-1674Kg and that pushes it up the scale with the RTA.
The weight increase must be due to the overall size increase and the fact that the front fenders are no longer plastic!
