That is true. Renault had a hand in the design of the new exy for sure being a partner and the new engines are the ones used by Renault as well.

The advert you're referring to can be found HERE (click on Shake It)

I don't think exy's ass is as shakeable as the Megan one but I like the advert LOL emoticon

Re: 2008 X-TRAIL IS HERE!!!!!

While we're discussing the EXys ass (we were weren't we), the only thing I think the new model has missed on is a two piece, glass opening tailgate.
Lot's of newer models are now going this way and it is prolly the main thing that would suck me out of my 2005 in to a new one when they land here.
Any thoughts ?

I agree with you Lance and since they have extended the height of the tailgate, they should have thought about splitting it at the same time. Would have been awesome.

The other thing that caught my attention is the reverse light! I sure do hope that white one in the bumper is not the only reverse light it's gonna have emoticon I mean the fog light is there and that's cool, but cancelling the reverse lights from the tail light cluster and moving it into the bumper is a BAD idea!

My son as a Jeep KJ and that as a split rear door where the rear screan lifts up and the door opens sideways and it is brilliant. You can have the top open and the door shut. It`s very handy for getting things in and out in tite parking spots.Plus when dogs are in the back in their cage and you want to nip into a shop you can leave it open for them.
As regards the reversing light. I can`t believe why they havn`t put reversing lights on the back of each of the roof rails. the same thats on the front. Maybe a DIY project for somebody to sort out. emoticon

They are missing one thing - either a locking diff as an option or off-road traction control.

If a locking diff is too much, they could have at least wired their brake system (which does the hill start etc), to be used to stop a loose wheel from spinning so power can be transferred to the wheel that is on the ground. I'd love to see some kind of manual control over the braking system - for example, some kind of control where I could actually specify which wheel(s) to keep the brakes applied on - great for when you get a front and rear wheel in the air.

I think they have done a good job on the new model and the only thing I can really say they could have improved on would be the ride height.

Seriously, another 40-50mm standard ride height would have been superb and just made this vehicle so much more capable of tackling the bush.

Not that it isn't any good now, no need to extol the virtues of a great car but would have made it just that much betterer!

Well done Nissan, you've gone from really good to really gooderer! emoticon
