Re: **What Tyres Do You Have?** Reference Poll Thread

Replaced the original rubbish about 12 months ago with

1. Cooper Discoverer H/T 235 x 70 x 15
2. Highway Terrain 90% Road and 10% Sand etc
3. About $185 each
4. Much quieter and stickier than the standard Toyos. Much better in the wet and in the sand. Appear to be more puncture resistant. Handle great in all conditions and wearing well.

Best tyre decision made so far. Would have a new set any day.

Re: **What Tyres Do You Have?** Reference Poll Thread

I've just gotten rid of the Bridgestone Dueller 683's. They were good on road, managable off. Wanted something a bit beefier and better for the offroad.

a) Cooper Discoverer ATR 215/70 R16
b) A/T 70% Road/Sand / 30% Dirt/Mud
c) $800 for a set of 4 (Direct Type & Wheel, Blacktown)
d) Only picked them up this morning, but have not noticed any substancial increase in road noise. Handling appears to have improved, and has a solid feel on the road. Haven't had time to take the Exy offroad yet, but will at the first chance emoticon to see how they perform

Re: **What Tyres Do You Have?** Reference Poll Thread

Hi Folks,

New Yoky Geolanders fitted this morning. Details:

Image

Brand: Yokohama Geolander A/T-S G012

Size: 215/65/16

Tread Pattern: All Terrain (70% Road & 30% Dirt and Mud)

Cost: Fitted and balanced $875 (Bob Jane Hornsby)

Level of satisfaction: Off road: big improvement, more sure footed. On road: a little noisier than Bridgestone D689s. More direct steering and better dry road grip. No change to speedo (same size as original rubber). Puncture resistance was a big selling point (2nd in 4WD Monthly comparo to the Coopers...and ahead of the BFG....sorry Brett, Paul, Rich etc etc). Priced well and best spec full A/T tyre that matched the original factory rubber size exactly....so no warrantry fights with Mr Nissan emoticon My only concern at this stage is how long they'll last. Bob Jane reckon only about 50,000Km...which is less than I'd like.

Re: **What Tyres Do You Have?** Reference Poll Thread

I have tried a few different tyres on my exy:

When I bought the car I removed the 15 inch rims and put on some 16 after market tyres:

1)TOYO TRANSPATH TASU 235/60/16 100H TYRES. $250 each. These tyres were a good tyre but a bit agricultural. They were sold to me as 10/90 tyres. They were great and more like a 30(off oroad)/70(on road) tyre. Never got bogged and took them into some boggy stuff from time to time. emoticon I staked one and replaced two with:

2)Yokohama Geolandar H/Ts GO51 235/60/16 100H. $250 each. These were good tyres and were a little quieter than the Toyos.

3)Michelin Lattitude 215/65/16 98H. $265 each. I Moved to the big smoke (Sydney) and needed to get some more tyres as my car was coming out of the lease as I had already prepaid them. These are great tyres! Although they are skinnier (215/65) the car drives better. Much quieter and the fuel economy is much much better! Very happy!

Note: When I moved to Sydney. My local Bob Janes did put on my car a set of Bridgestone tyres as part of my car lease. These were Bridgestone Dueller D683 H/L 215/65/16. These tyres felt OK. But when I got home I noticed that these tyres were speed rated at "S". Several levels lower than the recommended "H" rating. When I made the dealership aware of this and gave them the "are these tyres legal" speech.....they agreed for me to pay a little extra and swapped them for the above Michelins that I LOVE emoticon.

Cheers

FALKEN FK452's in 245/45/R18 100Y uni-directional tyre. almost $1000 for 4 fitted

- grip is excellent esp. for braking
- wet handling and braking is outstanding
- abit noisey under med-heavy braking
- more prone to pick of rocks and nails/screws

very happy with these tyres

Re: **What Tyres Do You Have?** Reference Poll Thread

Hi Guys,

Please structure your response in this thread in the following format:

A. Tyre Size(215/65R16, 225/70R15, etc)
 B. Tread Pattern (H/T, A/T, S/T, Road, M/T)
 C. Cost (including fitting & balancing)
 D. Level of satisfaction (incl. road noise, fuel impact and the like)

If you haven't had the chance to test the new tyres, then wait until you do and then post your impressions about them here.

There is also a thread for sub $200 tyres (budget) which can be found HERE
