Re: **What Tyres Do You Have?** Reference Poll Thread

Hey all,

The car came with Geolanders and i replaced with the same at approx 110k.

i got about 35Ks out of a second hand set which i was very happy with.
The only thing i didn't like was their wet weather handling. Were sliding too much for my liking.

I now drive on a brand new set of West Lake tyres which i find quite good considering i paid $100 per tire fitted and balanced.

only travelled about 20k so far but they still look like new.

Have also taken them of the road onto rocks and sand and they have behaved very well.

I find they are quite quiet on the road and are well suited for the exy.

Westlake SL369

A. 225/70R16 (Ours is a T30. For T31 you would likely use a 75 series version)
B. A/T (more like H/T than A/T)
C. Cost $500
D. Noise: Good for a 'tready' tyre. consumption is good, grip is great for the price. Not overly soft, but they still stick.

Profile increase is a great improvement. Very happy.

Re: **What Tyres Do You Have?** Reference Poll Thread

General Grabber AT

Ran the standard size 215x60/17

Very good tires off road till at least halfway through the tread.

Reached end of useful life at 40,000ks, left them on as they passed inspection till 80,000ks, but definitely on the tread wear indicator by then.

Swapped for a full set of "Gopro" Enterra AT cheap chinesium tires. Seem to be ok for now, but the main thing is I stepped up to 225x65/17. This is the max allowable in NZ, being 5% larger than standard, and helps heal the speedo in my case.

Not sure they are going to fit in the spare wheel well.

They are likely to be at least as good performing off road for me, as the tread pattern is a copy of the General Grabber or pretty close anyway.
