posticon **What Tyres Do You Have?** Reference Poll Thread

Dear Members,

This poll thread has been created to get a general idea about the tyres you have chosen for your ride. It will compliment the existing Replacement Tyres thread.

The poll will include the available tyre brands which some of our members have chosen and discussed in the above thread.

VOTING PROCESS
====================

1. Add your vote by selecting the tyre brand you have chosen.

2. Add a reply to the poll thread listing the following information:

 A. Tyre Size(215/65R16, 225/70R15, etc)
 B. Tread Pattern (H/T, A/T, S/T, Road, M/T)
 C. Cost (including fitting & balancing)
 D. Level of satisfaction (incl. road noise, fuel impact and the like)

3. Please limit your answers to the above 4 points only.

NOTE: This thread is for reference purposes only, it is not meant for follow-up replies and/or debates about the choice of tyres available or to comment on what each member has decided to select. Use the Replacement Tyres thread for that purpose. All follow-up comments will be removed without notice!

Thanks for your cooperation.

Re: **What Tyres Do You Have?** Reference Poll Thread

A. My tyres are Pirelli Scorpion S/T 215/65R16.
B. 70% road 30% off-road.
C. Cost was $862 fitted & balanced for set of 4.
D. I chose these tyres because I wanted a tread pattern between a H/T and A/T to maintain the best of H/T for sand driving but give a little extra grip like A/T in other Off-road driving.

There is a little road-hum but not distracting.
Road grip seems better than the original Bridgestone 689 H/T and the ride harshness has not increased.
Due to other performance mods like Full exhaust upgrade I have not been able to define any fuel impacts.

Admin Edit: Original Tyres on the xtrail are Bridgestone 689s (not 694). Information Corrected

A. Bridgestone D694 (235/60/16)

B. A/T 50% Road 50% Off-Road

C. $1050 for 5 tyres balanced & fitted.

D. Great off-road tyres, especially in mud and water crossings and rock climbs. Noisy on the road. Impacted fuel economy being a wider profile. No impacts on speedo accuracy.

Re: **What Tyres Do You Have?** Reference Poll Thread

A. Coopers ATR 16inch (Size??) 90k guarantee

B. A/T 60% road 40% Sand/Mud

C. $1150 for 5 tyres balanced & fitted. Took 3 trips to the shop as two tyres would not balance and had to be sent back to the manufacturer for replacement. The steel spare heel balanced perfectly first go but the alloys took ages. Got old tyres disposed of for free for my troubles.

D. Sensational tyres, especially off road. A little noisy on the road when you have the windows opened and radio low but not enough to bother.

E. Had originals replaced at about 30k as was getting low on tread, have had these on for nearly 30k and no noticeable wear at all as yet.

F. Impact on fuel consumption, don't know - too fiddly a detail for me to worry about.

G. Recommended by the guy who did my intro to 4wd course and could not be happier with my decision to change, no slip in the wet, hang on well going round bends and the recent off road adventures proved their worth in the dirt

A. Cooper ATR 225/70 R15

B. AT - 70% on-road, 30% off-road

C. $221 a tyre (Tyrepower Balcatta, WA)

D. Very Happy with these tyres compared to the factory Toyos. Slightly more roadnoise, but not that noticeable. Fuel consumption seems ok, but I'm going to test it better over the coming weeks. On-road handling seems good - slightly less body roll, better wet road grip, can go just as fast on these as I did the toyos. Off-road is great too - they tend to dig through sand a bit, but they can keep going on the soft stuff. Haven't had a chance to try out mud or anything like that yet.

A. Nexen N3000 (245/45/18), 100Y Load Rating

B. V type directional symmetrical aqua groove designed specially connecting from center to shoulder part.

C. $245 each

D. Great on-road performance in both dry and wet conditions. The wider profile gives much better handling especially around corners. Impact on fuel consumption is slightly better than my previous BFG All-Terrains. Good performer for the price and will probably buy again depending on the tyre life.

E. Tyre Review 1 ; Tyre Review 2
