2000 Xtrail concept

Hi all,

I'm trying to get my exy looking like the Xtrail concept car that was originally shown back in Paris at the 2000 auto show.

Roof mounted fog lights (found on the STR), wheel arch extentions, front brembo brakes, and 2 tone front and rear bumper.

Does anyone know where I may be able to obtain the STR foglight/roof mounted assembly and also the wheel arches?
Is it even possible to install the roof assembly?

Pictures of the concept can be found at this link http://www.autointell.com/asian_companies/nissan/nissan-xtrail.htm

Any info woukd be of great help. Thanks

Re: 2000 Xtrail concept

I have no real idea on your questions, but I did see a series 1 X-trail whilst travelling the car yards that did have those roof mounted/roof rack lights. I thought it a bit weird, but looked kind of cool too. So I guess they are available somewhere...

Re: 2000 Xtrail concept

Tague,

The answer to your questions as follows:

1. Hyper roof rails (this is what they're called) can not be retrofitted, as they come assembled from the factory and form part of the roof. Nissan doesn't sell them as "spare parts" your only option is to get a roof cut from the wreckers with them. Approx cost of a roof cut is $2000 emoticon

2. Brembo brake upgrade can be done and you can fit the Nissan 350Z brakes and calipers. This would cost you around $6000

3. 2 tone front and rear bumpers can be done at any local smash repair shop. Approx. cost of painting is $500

Thanks for your help Jalal.
Might need to look at selling the Ti and getting the ST-R if the roof assembly is going to cost that much.
Any idea on the wheel arch extentions??

I'm pretty sure Nissan dont make them in any market around the world. But is there someone/somewhere that might be able to make them up? Like a panel shop??

Tague,

The wheel arch extensions are available in the market, but they cost a fortune too. Around $500 for a set of 4.

I can source these and they're genuine Nissan.

Really!!! That would be great.

I honestly thought they were a one off for the concept.
$500 is fine considering I spent $1400 on a set of jeep wrangler flares for my last money pit.

No problems then Tague. Send me an email to the Shop email address [email protected] and I will give you all details and photos and we can take it from there.

I can get them from overseas in a matter of a week or two.

Jalal,
This is from the website Taque had a link to.
Did all this get fitted to any Xtrail models overseas or here that you know of ?

Hi Kev,

Yep. These advanced features are being offered in snow countries where they need it the most. I believe some models in Canada and UK have them as an added feature to the top of the range xtrails.

Russia has them too.

Re: 2000 Xtrail concept

With Toyota marketing Brake-Assist as a major feature in there larger 4WD (and now also in the little Rav4) it would be smart for Nissan to have it as an option on some of the upmarket Xtrails here.
Combine it with the EBD and TCS (which you can get in a Dunnydoore these days) it would be a very attractive option package indeed I think.

But then the Xtrail wouldn't be so affordable for so many to enjoy like us emoticon
