Re: A little announcement from me ...
Congrats Adam, welcome to fatherhood in the not so distant future.
My advice is get as much sleep as you can before it arrives, as the first 3 months will be hectic,

So come on you existing parents, tell me all the good things about having a baby!!
The good thing about having kids is that you will enter another and completely different phase of your life and feel the responsibility and also watch them grow right in front of your eyes. Amazing!
If you don't mind getting jumped on in the morning and being given the scare of your life, then consider this a good thing too and another method of waking-up early on weekends without the need for an alarm. hahahaha

Re: A little announcement from me ...
My boy is 2 1/2 so he is at that curious age where everything is interesting. He has a genuine interest in everything and anything. There is nothing like just sitting and watching them find out how things work, what and why they do what they do. You end up with the feeling that there is nothing you would not do for your child.
However there is the vomit, nappies and snot, alot of all of these, this will basically harden you up to such a point that nothing really phases you ever again either in private or in public.
Nothing can beat the first time your child says daddy for the first or 2000th time... you never grow tired of it.... Nothing can beat that..
Oh and the nappy thing... You never knew that babies could produce so much and the smell.... hehehhe enjoy....

Re: A little announcement from me ...
I had the joy of standing up next to my daughter and wishing her all the best for her 18th birthday last sunday.
Whilst prattling off a list of her achievements, not once was it mentioned that she filled her nappy so much that it spilled out the sides and over the top of the elastic pilchers.
Not once was it mentioned that we considered using the gas mask from the shed to change her the day after a particularly good batch of spaghetti bolognaise.
And, whilst this did happen on more than one occasion, this was all forgotten on her special day.
My son just loves standing up through the roof of the Thunda. Just to hear him giggling and whooping is enough to catch your breath.
Adam, there will be times that you love them and hate them, you'll laugh at them and with them, scream at them and with them. There will be ups and downs on the bumpy road of parenthood but mate, when they stand in front of you and look up with big round eyes and say 'unconditionally' I Love You Daddy, it's times like that when you know, it's all worth it.
Good luck mate, enjoy the early years they slip away so fast!
