Re: trail-bike/4WD tracks around Menai/Heathcote, Sydney - LET'S GO!

Ok, so the lunch thing with family has been changed to DINNER...

So I guess both days are still an option. It's cutting it abit fine now that it's Tuesday afternoon, but what do others prefer - Saturday or Sunday? I say the Jacaranda tree can be done on the other day we don't go out, or if it has to, wait until another weekend...

To summarise this thread, so far there's only been one response in favour of the 19th (af3556 - Ben) and others who have showed interest but not indicated any preferred dates (Doctor X - Domenic, CokeAddict - Ange, and Brett). Plus Peter indicated some guys from his forum would be interested. I'll post up a thread on his forums later (if he hasn't already).

Ange, are you still interested in being our "tour guide"?

One of the Australia4WD forum members has stated that the area we're looking at going is restricted access (National Park) - ie: not allowed in...

Don't despair... If I can't come up with an alternative, we could still go to Boat Harbour @ Kurnell (for the newbies - think of Stockton Beach, only alot smaller emoticon ).

You just need to know that Kurnell would incur an entry fee of about $15 per vehicle (unless it's gone up since last time I went)

Re: trail-bike/4WD tracks around Menai/Heathcote, Sydney - LET'S GO!

Ange has emailed me - he is having issues accessing the forum for some unknown reason.

He's happy to be our tour guide and would like to know if you are interested on being taken for a ride throughout the area, or just want to play and get dirty (or both) emoticon

Extract from his email: we can either go "inland heading south from where we start and if time allows, we can attempt the other track which takes us down to the river. Its pretty rought heading down there (rocks as obstacles) but i was there a few weeks ago and the suzuki club was heading down there with some difficulties but they made it down eventually". If he's talking about where I posted the 2nd lot of co-ordinates from Google Earth, it looks quite exciting and challenging emoticon

Don't forget your recovery gear if you've got it (I'd say "just in case", but with 4WD-ing it's more likely to be "for when the need arises" as you're bound to get stuck somewhere if you're really having fun! emoticon ).

Let's start discussing meeting places and times. I'd suggest Menai Maccas as it's a nice central location to meet. How long do you want to sleep-in for? emoticon

Jalal, are you coming?

I wish I can and I really want to, but at the moment I have loads of stuff to do this weekend and not enough time to finish it all. Some stuff is for the forum and other stuff is around the house.

Saturday is out for me for sure, but I will let you guys know closer to Sunday if I can make it. I will know for sure before then.

No worries, Jalal. I just hadn't heard anything so wasn't sure what your plans were...

I'm going to be game (or a fool) and attempt the outing without any front protection (all the plastic covers are still removed from when I was making up the metal bash-plate template) if I don't get a chance to at least put the plastic covers back in place beforehand...
