Great news about the grass area.

OK Guys, am not sure about you, but for myself after seeing those pics of Matt's exy, I am in favor of this spot and it'll be a good day out for the family too.

If you think the same, start proposing a date to meet-up.

P.S. School holidays are coming-up as well, so it should be great fun.

Photography is a real art – something that we’d all like to be better at than we probably are – I know I would.

Been following this thread and envy you guys being able to get together like you plan for this photo shoot.

Obviously, aside from having a great get together with fellow X-Trailers and having an enjoyable “family” day, you’d like to come out of it with some good photos of your X-Ts and the marvelous scenery that abounds in your countryside.

WRT the latter, I’ve been thinking about some suggestions to help with the outcome. I thought to myself that the car manufactures use professional photographers to get those “just right” photos that they use for their glossy brochures that they hope will entice us to buy their product.

That being said, why not plagiarize some of their ideas WRT backgrounds, angles, lighting, shadows – twilight, sun set etc. etc.

Here’s an example:

Image

This was taken in Bonavista, Newfoundland by Nissan’s professional photographers, and is now used on the brochure for the X-T Bonavista Edition. The results speak for themselves.

Another with a different background:

Here’s an interesting approach:

Image

Not sure that one’s average digital camera would be able to do this, but with a certain zoom it might work – obviously it would be nice to select a member’s ride that had some mods to the dash area (SatNav – GPS – DVD).

Here’s the first one, highlighting the X-Trail:

Image

Notice that they've turned the lights on the vehicle.

So, in short, my suggestion would be to have another look at your most recent brochures from Nissan on the X-T and draw on some of their approaches.

And, you might want to consider a “dedicated photographer” (as opposed to a designated driver)…having seen Matt’s pics and his comment to the effect that he loves takings pics of cars, I’d certainly give him strong consideration - - Pressure is on Matt !!

I do hope that y’all have a very enjoyable day (and that’s the most important part) and I look forward to seeing your pictures – don’t forget the great scenery that you have for background……..

Cheers = Roger

Re: Expressions of Interest: Sydney photo-shoot

Matt,

If the event can be delayed by a week or two, it'll be great.

My father is arriving from overseas on 6/11 and I have not seen him for FIFTEEN YEARS.

Would love to have him with us in this event, as he's car mad too and would have great fun seeing all the exys emoticon

P.S. Roger: Are you using a temporary ImageShack download to host your photos? It seems that all pics you're uploading as part of your posts go dead after a week. If you have not signed-up with ImageShack and have an account with them to manage the uploaded photos, I suggest you do that, otherwise you gonna have to keep updating these dead pics in every post you make on any forum.

I have noticed that here, the CAI and Bonnet strut threads already.

Jalal:

I noticed that too - thought it had something to do with the "dead links"....

I've had an account with ImageShack for more than a year now.....and, I manage my photos therein (delete / update etc). Currently have about 3 pages (down from 8).

Now that you've brought it up, I can think of two things that could be causing this:

1. I've recently deleted some photos from my account....

2. If I'm making a post with several photos, I'll usually copy them into a WORD document before the post.

The problem seems more likely with number 1 above - what do you think ??

P.S. I trust we'll see some Father / Son photos emoticon

Yes Roger, it is because of #1 for sure. Any photo you delete in ImageShack will have a dead link on any forum where it has been posted, so I think you have done some major clean-up in ImageShack and this has affected many of your posts emoticon

You don't really need to maintain your imageshack account by deleting photos from it. It is free and has no limit. I am upto 99 pages of photos there LOL

Time to clean-up/edit your posts in the forum mate LOL

Yep, father & son photos will be posted for sure, especially when we implement the next mod on my exy together emoticon

I will be in Wollongong on the 18-19 November, so those dates are ok for me. Otherwise the 350km drive in from Orange is not quite justified. emoticon

I suppose Jalal could 'photoshop' my car into the pic.
