Yeah I drove in lock the whole time I was at stockton. SO auto would do the job would it? I am always keen to go on beach, I only live 30 mins from stockton. You could go it alone on there if you stick to the main paths, especially if you go on at anna bay.

Matt,

Lock is only good until 32klms/hr and after that is auto any way, I run in auto but if get stuck change to lock but need to be stopped for that to work.

I had problems with 4wd overheating but ran 14lb last time there and had no problems even after long drive in soft stuff.

I would love to go stockton this weekend but I am going to the Blue Mountains for work conference. emoticon Oh well free food and accomadation + getting paid for it..... emoticon Can't have it both ways I suppose. Make sure you take plenty of photos. I didnt get long on the beach, only a couple of hours. I would really like to go on the beach with someone who knows where all the sites are and which tracks, etc to take. Have fun!

Re: Stockton Beach Escapade

Hi Guys.
Am quite happy to go to Stockton most weekends for a few hours as I live only 20/30 minutes away.Am fairly familiar with the area & know some of the tracks.Always drive in Auto with tyres down to about 16 psi, with manual in 2nd gear. No big problems to date although got bogged entering through Lavis Lane on a very hot day in January.

Cheers

Dennis

Re: Stockton Beach Escapade

How tedious is this weather? Just got back home. Drove all the way up to see my mate in Medowie and we called off the Stockton trek. Went to the Chocolate Festival at Ivanhoe Wineries instead. Bit pi** weak frankly, but got to sample lots of chocolate and cheese, flavoured olive oils etc.

Wife is happy to have gone to Chocolate Festival, but I am bitterly disappointed to have missed out on some dune climbing! 8(
